Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard spoke to Brenda Edwards on This Morning this Thursday as she promoted her latest project which begged the question – could she leave Loose Women behind?
Brenda Edwards has responded to rumours questioning her future on Loose Women with a categorical answer.
The former X Factor contestant appeared on This Morning this Thursday (June 27), alongside soul and gospel singer Michelle Ndegwa, after adding another string to her bow as she was announced as a director for Hairspray’s UK tour.
However, after promoting her latest project, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard couldn’t help but wonder if she could be leaving the Loose Women panel, which she joined on a regular basis in 2020, after making several guest appearances between February and March, 2019.
As regular viewers at home may know, Brenda stood in for Linda Robson and remained part of the line-up after the latter’s return to the show in early 2020.

Her answer left no room for doubt as she categorically denied she’d be leaving the program. “Absolutely not” she said, before adding: “unless there’s something I don’t know about.”
Earlier this year, the singer sparked health concerns among Loose Women fans as she appeared on set bearing an eye patch after an infection. In May, she was then seen without the accessory as she told viewers she was well on her way to a full recovery.
Brenda made the revelation when Charlene White – who was leading the panel at the time – asked her why her eye make-up had only been half-done.
Once co-star Linda believed she had just rushed her preparation backstage, she added: “I did not forget, Linda thought I had done one eye. No, I had the patch and it has gone down so you know, yeah I am without a patch. But also, without makeup because I can’t put makeup on it.”
More recently, Brenda responded to rumours of a feud between the Loose Women presenters after former star Carol McGiffin claimed she’d had trouble backstage.
“I get on with everybody”, Brenda said during a chat with Woman’s Own, “I’m not involved in anything. Everyone says we don’t get on, but we do. I get on with everybody and I just keep myself to myself and enjoy the show.”
She had then expressed her gratitude as she recognised that the show had given her a platform to speak about serious issues, including the tragic death of her son Jamal – meanwhile, her co-star Coleen Nolan candidly opened up about the behind-the-scenes feuding, stating she had once fallen out of love with Loose Women.
