Bret and Amy’s journey as a married couple led them to parenthood. They welcomed their first son, Paul Francis Baier, on June 29, 2007. However, their joy was quickly overshadowed by a heartbreaking diagnosis. Paul was born with severe heart defects that required immediate surgery.

Recalling the moment he received the devastating news, Bret wrote in his book, “Dr. Martin uttered the words that have played in my mind on a continual loop every day since: ‘If your son doesn’t have surgery within the next two weeks, he’s not going to make it.’”

Despite the fear and uncertainty, the Baiers relied on their faith and the expertise of doctors to navigate their son’s health challenges. Paul underwent multiple surgeries and continues to live with heart disease, but his strength and resilience have been a source of inspiration to his family.

Three years later, on July 10, 2010, the Baiers welcomed their second son, Daniel Bret Baier. With their two boys, the couple has built a loving home while balancing the demands of Bret’s high-profile career and Amy’s dedication to charitable work.
