Ravens running back Derrick Henry (22) celebrates with offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley (79) after scoring a touchdown

Baltimore Ravens News

The Baltimore Ravens and Pro Bowl left tackle Ronnie Stanley have agreed to a three-year, $60 million contract with $44 million guaranteed at signing, per a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Stanley was set to soon hit free agency, with the legal tampering period beginning on Monday and signings able to become official on Wednesday. Both sides have been consistent in stating that they would like to work out a new deal that keeps Stanley in Baltimore, with everything coming together on Saturday afternoon.

Stanley was not only the Ravens’ top pending free agent, but would have been the top left tackle on the market had he not re-signed. Multiple other AFC teams were presumably interested in his services, such as the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs. This is Stanley’s second extension with Baltimore, the first coming back in 2020 when he signed a five year, $112.8 million deal.

Set to be 31-years-old when the 2025 season kicks off, this is a very nice contract for the nine-year veteran. The Ravens drafted Stanley with the sixth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and he has appeared in 104 games for them since, starting every single one. He has been named to the Pro Bowl twice, and was a First-Team All-Pro in 2019.

When healthy, Stanley has been one of the best left tackles in the league. The one asterisk he has had throughout his career is injuries. This past season was the first time he has ever played in every game. He most notably missed 11 games in 2020 and 16 in 2021 due to an ankle injury. In 2023 he missed four games with a knee injury.

Hopefully those injury woes are in the past and we get more of the version of Stanley we saw in 2024. The man who lines up next to him, left guard Patrick Mekari, is still slated to become a free agent. Other notable free agents for the Ravens include cornerback Brandon Stephens, linebacker Malik Harrison, and wide receiver Nelson Agholor.
