The Dallas Cowboys are finally starting to wake up!
Cowboys added more depth to the backfield after signing Javonte Williams earlier this week, but that was just the start of things.
Carolina Panthers free agent running back Miles Sanders is planning to sign with Dallas. He will join the Cowboys on a one-year deal after being released by Carolina.
The second-round pick out of Penn State in 2019 spent the first four years of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was quite successful as he racked up 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
In 2023, he would join the Panthers but saw his overall production take a major dip while playing alongside Chuba Hubbard in the backfield. In that season, he managed just 432 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 154 yards through the air.
During the 2024 season, he had a career-low 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns, with 148 yards and a touchdown through the air.
After releasing Sanders, the Panthers picked up running back Rico Dowdle, who had a career year with the Dallas Cowboys in 2024.
Sanders is just 27, so he still might have something left in the tank from his Eagles’ days.

Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have been criticized for not being aggressive during the offseason despite having so many needs.
The Cowboys have been more aggressive in addressing their running game, which needed a ton of work.
After letting last season’s leading rusher, Rico Dowdle, walk in free agency to the Carolina Panthers, the Cowboys signed Javonte Williams and plan to add Miles Sanders.
These players should help the Cowboys’ rushing attack, which ranked sixth-worst last season, averaging just 95.7 yards per game.
