The Denver Broncos have to get more receivers for quarterback Bo Nix at the 2025 NFL Draft, and GM George Paton would hit the jackpot if he could somehow land Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan.
The 21-year-old Tetairoa McMillan is among the top prospects in a stacked wide receiver draft class. The group also includes two-way Colorado star Travis Hunter, Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka, Missouri’s Luther Burden III and Texas’ Matthew Golden, to say nothing of stud tight ends Colston Loveland (Michigan) and Tyler Warren (Penn State).
ESPN’s Mel Kiper published his new 2025 NFL mock draft on Tuesday, and he has the Broncos addressing their primary need by snagging McMillan with the No. 20 selection in the draft:
“McMillan would give Nix a sure-handed jump-ball artist who uses his great body control and physicality to make tough catches. He broke 1,300 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons. Pairing him with Courtland Sutton and new tight end Evan Engram would give opponents some game-planning nightmares.”
In his final season of college football, the 6-foot-5, 212-pound Tetairoa McMillan racked up 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns. The season prior, McMillan caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Last season, Courtland Sutton became the first Bronco to hit 1,000 yards receiving in a season since 2019 (when he hit the feat), posting 81 catches for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns. Marvin Mims was second with only 39 catches for 503 yards and six touchdowns.
Nix had a tremendous rookie year and led Denver to a surprise playoff appearance, the franchise’s first in nine years. Add a player like McMillan to the mix, and they’d close the gap further with the top clubs in the AFC.
Broncos Might Have To Trade Up If They Want Tetairoa McMillan

McMillan is regarded by some scouts and analysts as the best wide receiver in the 2025 draft class after Travis Hunter. So there’s a good chance here that he’ll be gone by the time Denver picks at 20 unless Paton can work his magic and move up to select the Arizona star.
But if Nix has a core of Sutton, McMillan and Evan Engram to build around, Denver’s offense will be well-positioned to succeed over the long run.
