If Saquon Barkley wants to look at non-football-related endeavors after his playing career, he should consider a career as a fortune teller or psychic.
Saquon Barkley is coming off a historic first season with the Philadelphia Eagles, winning Super Bowl 59 and Offensive Player of the Year honors after rushing for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. In Philly’s four playoff games, the 28-year-old racked up 499 yards and five touchdowns as the NFC East club won its second Super Bowl title in seven years.
On a slightly unrelated note, the New York Giants signed quarterback Jameis Winston to a two-year contract worth $8 million. Now, how does this relate to Barkley other than the Giants being his former team?
During Super Bowl week, Jameis Winston worked as a reporter for Fox Sports. While Barkley was speaking to the media, Winston asked Barkley which team he should sign with in free agency.
“I think New York needs a quarterback right now,” Saquon Barkley said before clarifying the Giants on a follow-up question from Winston.
Ding, ding ding! And bingo was his name-o.
The Giants met with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson but obviously didn’t want to wait any longer. So, New York settled on the No. 1 pick of 2015 as a short-term option while they ponder the possibility of taking a quarterback with the No. 3 selection.
Saquon Barkley Must Be Laughing At Giants

Barkley couldn’t have handled his bizarre departure from the Giants on a more professional matter, but deep down, you can’t help but wonder how much he’s laughing at his old team.
After all, how many other organizations would let their franchise player walk for nothing in free agency and let him sign a below-market-value deal with an archrival team like the Eagles? Hey, Barkley isn’t complaining.
