A blockbuster trade proposal has the Seattle Seahawks sending star running back Kenneth Walker III to a surprise AFC team that would shake up the 2025 NFC and AFC playoff races next year.

Kenneth Walker is heading into the fourth and final reason of his rookie contract. With 2023 second-round pick Zach Charbonnet showcasing the ability to be an RB1, it’s unlikely that the Seahawks will hand Walker a long-term extension.

Remember, GM John Schneider has always preferred to move on from a player too early rather than a year too late. See: franchise pillars Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Tyler Locket and D.K. Metcalf.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton proposed a fascinating trade idea that has Seattle reuniting Walker with Pete Carroll by sending the star RB to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick:

“Raiders head coach Pete Carroll can call his former team and inquire about Kenneth Walker III. Seattle may be willing to move on from the 24-year-old because of his declining production and recent injuries. He’s seen a drop-off in his rushing numbers since his 2022 rookie season.

The 2022 second-rounder also missed four games in his first two campaigns and six outings last season.

In Walker’s absence, Zach Charbonnet has shown he can handle the majority load on the ground. He led the Seahawks in rushing touchdowns (eight), averaged 4.2 yards per carry and flashed his reliable hands with 42 catches for 340 yards and a touchdown in 2024.”

The Raiders curiously let 2022 rushing leader Josh Jacobs leave for nothing in free agency a year ago, and his departure left a giant void in their offense. Veteran Alexander Mattison was Vegas’ rushing leader in 2024 with just 420 yards.

Las Vegas already acquired Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith in a blockbuster trade with the Seahawks, before Schneider signed fellow Pro Bowl signal-caller Sam Darnold to a three-year deal in free agency.

Schneider and Carroll had a good working relationship in Seattle, so who says they couldn’t make a second big-time trade in a matter of weeks?

Kenneth Walker Would Give Raiders’ Offense A Giant Boost

The Raiders already have a promising nucleus on offense led by Smith, rising star tight end Brock Bowers and veteran wideout Jakobi Meyers, who hit the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career.

Add a 1,000-yard rusher like Walker to the mix, and the Raiders offense would have the pieces in place to field a top-10 scoring unit.
