Simon Asks The 15-Year-Old To Stop Singing Just Seconds After She Begins, But Moments Later, The Audience Is Left Speechless As She Reveals Her True Talent
I love being part of the moment when a star lights up before my eyes. When Morgan Smith applied to the UK talent competition, her first audition didn’t go as she had hoped.
After a while, the jury got tired of her singing, and were very skeptical about her singing ability. But as she changes songs, her true talent is revealed, and everyone in the room can’t help but smile as they see her blossom.
I truly admire those who dare to venture into the unknown and bet on their big dream. Whether it’s a career as an artist or an athlete, the dream doesn’t matter. I find it admirable that you dare to invest yourself fully in this dream, regardless of what others may think and believe. They do what they have to do and it’s make or break.
It is also on these occasions that their lives can also change forever. We have seen this on several occasions. Most people probably remember Susan Boyle’s first performance, where she completely blossomed on stage.
And there are certainly many who dreamed of being part of the same moment after Boyle’s success.
Perhaps that’s why Morgan Smith applied for Britain’s ‘Talent’ in 2016. When she goes on stage, she is of course nervous and when she also announces that she is only 15 years old, the jury raises their eyebrows.
Even though she is young, she has a clear life goal.
“I want to sing in front of the royal family,” she told the jury.
She then explains that it is on the song “Spotlight” by Jennifer Hudson that she is going to launch. The judges look surprised but happy that she is taking on a difficult song. But it will turn out that it will be more or less a failure.
Cut off at the beginning of the song
Simon Cowell is immediately skeptical and wonders what kind of strange background music this is.
The rest of the jury is confused and it is clear that this is not what they were preparing for. It only takes a few seconds and Simon is tired.
He raises his arm and signals to stop the music. Simon then asks him to choose another song instead, thinking that maybe there’s a chance his version is better.
A standing ovation
The jury makes it clear to her that they want more feeling and heart in her performance, in order to get a sense of who she is as a person. So it changes and adopts a completely different tone. Her magical and warm voice emerges and the jury displays a big smile.
Even Simon Cowell, who was previously extremely skeptical, is glad he gave it a chance.
