Carol McGiffin has suggested that Katie Price mustn’t like herself, due to the many relationships she has been in over the years.

Discussing Best Magazine’s new podcast Suddenly Single, Carol, 64, reflected on her happy single years before meeting her husband Mark 16 years ago.

The former Loose Women star said she “loved” being alone for most of her adult life and insisted those in relationships were “probably jealous” of her freedom at the time.

Podcast hosts Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes welcomed Katie to the show last week, who dived into the ups and downs of her widely public love life.

Following the 46-year-old’s appearance on the show, Carol branded her former co-star “a marriage addict”.

Speaking in her column with the magazine, she shared: “The first episode saw the pair chatting with Katie Price – in my opinion, a relationship and marriage addict who has only been single for three months since the age of 17.

“I’m guessing she doesn’t particularly like herself, so good job she is going to the Priory regularly to sort that out! Or she will be when she gets back from Turkey with her latest man.”

Mother-of-five Katie has been married three times so far firstly to Peter Andre, followed by Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler.

She is currently dating Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater, who according to an insider, is her “soulmate”.

It’s not the first time Katie has been in Carol’s firing line over the years.

The ex Loose Women star previously claimed the ITV show was “desperate” for hiring Katie as a panellist back in 2016.

She told Woman Magazine: “I don’t know what she’s doing there, but she’s got a lot of Twitter followers, and they’re desperate for viewers. I can’t believe those women are sitting with her.

“Where’s their self-respect? That’s why the show is so different, because they’re going for people with a lot of fans.”

Three years later, Carol suggested that the reality star must be “the unhappiest woman on the planet” after undergoing more surgery.

The outspoken broadcaster told readers at the time that seeing pictures of Katie bruised and swollen from surgery had become “mildly disturbing”.

In another swipe at her love life, she added: “She seems to be addicted to disastrous relationships and marriages.

“I wonder how much of it is all done for the sake of having something ‘going on’ for her never-seen TV show, My Crazy Life.”
