TV presenter Coleen Nolan has been all praise for her pal Ruth Langsford’s graceful handling of her split from Eamonn Holmes.
Ruth, who along with Eamonn, 64, formed a much-loved ‘ This Morning ‘ pair, went through a public separation after 14 years of wedlock. Coleen, herself no stranger to divorce, opened up in Woman magazine about how Ruth has conducted herself post-breakup.
She gushed, “I will say from a friend’s point of view is, I’ve never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride.” The ‘ Loose Women ‘ star lauded Ruth: “She’s just such a lady, more of a lady then I’ll ever be, I would’ve spilled my guts right now.”
Despite Coleen’s experience, she admitted that her attempts to offer guidance often fell on deaf ears, noting “I’ve given her advice but she doesn’t listen to me, I’m going, ‘How can you not say anything? ‘ But I don’t need to give her advice.” Coleen’s comments came before Eamonn hit out at critics of his new relationship.
Ruth has maintained her silence on the matter after rejoining ‘Loose Women’ last month. Eamonn, for his part, has moved out from their shared home and disclosed he was “not OK” when speaking at June’s TRIC Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The GB News presenter, who was in the running for Best News Presenter and for his coverage on GB News, revealed to the Daily Mirror his struggles amidst the marriage breakdown, stating: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.” Eamonn Holmes opened up about his future with Ruth, saying: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”
Despite battling severe chronic back pain that necessitated a walking aid and a high-tech wheelchair for the event, Eamonn also confessed he feels like he’s living on “borrowed time”, given that his father Leonard passed away at 65 from a heart attack in 1991. He shared: “I wasn’t going to come but I’ve got this new chair with all these gadgets.”
