Danny Jones and Maura Higgins appeared to skip the NTAs winners room after their awkward on stage reunion months after their controversial kiss at the BRITs afterparty earlier this year.

As Ant and Dec were away filming for the All Stars series, King of the Jungle Danny took it upon himself to thank the voters and the team on stage, with Maura also joining the cast.

It marks the first time he and Maura were seen in public together since their shock kiss earlier this year. However, it appears the two chose to skip the awkward interaction in the winners room, which was attended by 2024 contestants including Coleen Rooney, Oti Mabuse and Melvin Odoom.

Speaking on Danny, Oti said: “He’s on tour. He’s made sure to make us tell you he’s on tour!” He later appeared back on stage with bandmate Tom Fletcher to present the Best Serial Drama award.

Speaking on the win, Coleen said: “It’s amazing. It was a tough category to be up against. We didn’t know which way it was going to go. Everyone behind the scenes was great.”

At the BRITS afterparty earlier this year, Danny, who is married to Georgia Horsley, was seen giving Maura a peck before moving in to kiss her on the lips in front of onlookers.

The video, captured just before 3am, showed the pair standing together in March, leaning in for what appeared to be a drunken kiss.

The pair stayed quiet for a while, until the McFly singer released a statement in over a week later which said: “Hello everyone, sorry it’s taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.

“I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.

“I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.”

McFly star Danny has been married to his wife Georgia, with whom he shares his seven-year-old son Cooper, since 2014. The pair stayed together after the controversy, and in June, Georgia posted about her husband for the first time since the kiss.

Sharing a sweet snap of Cooper hugging dad Danny. She cutely captioned the post: “For the Dads. Happy Father’s Day.”

After the Maura kiss came to light, Georgia temporarily moved out of their family home. Insiders claimed that the entire ordeal has been “embarrassing” for the mother-of-one.
