It’s a tough week for Aaron Dingle on Emmerdale next week, as his killer husband John Sugden remains on the loose.
From blaming himself for recent events and others also accusing him, to fears of what John might have up his sleeve, Aaron struggles to cope. He’s still recovering in hospital after being dragged off a cliff by John over his fling with Robert Sugden.
John has been exposed though, and next week he sneaks into the village to target his brother Robert once more. At the hospital, it’s clear the impact of John’s lies and dark actions have affected Aaron, and the damage runs deep.
Aaron is in a dark place with bad thoughts rushing through his mind, and him feeling alone. His uncle Cain Dingle continues to blame him out of grief for his son Nate Robinson, killed by John.
Aaron is devastated as Cain is unforgiving, and blames his nephew for what John has gotten away with for so long. Wanting justice for Nate, Cain sets a plan in motion it seems with his brother Caleb Miligan, amid Caleb being tormented by John over Anthony Fox’s murder.

As for Aaron, he’s bemused when his aunt Ruby Miligan shows up to see him. She immediately sees how much turmoil he is in, and she draws a link between how Aaron is feeling about John with her own sadness over her father Anthony’s demise, and what happened prior.
Aaron opens up to Ruby, confessing that he blames himself for John getting away with everything and now being on the loose. He wishes he had spotted the signs, feeling stupid for not having realised the truth.
Ruby tries to make him see that none of it is his fault, and Ruby’s words leave Aaron grateful to have her support. So will Aaron be able to move past his turmoil?
He’s fearing the worst though, telling Ruby and his mum Chas Dingle what he suspects John might be up to. Chas and Ruby try to assure everything with John is over, and he can’t get to him anymore.

But Aaron knows his husband, now more than ever, and he can’t help but fear that it’s not over and John could come back. He’s convinced it would be a big mistake to underestimate what his husband will do next and what else he is capable of.
But is he right? And do the villagers need to watch out? Meanwhile, other residents are still reeling from John’s lies. The staff at the doctors surgery where he worked worry that John’s crimes may come back to haunt them.
Manpreet suggests they do a thorough audit of the surgery, but will they find anything and will they come under fire?
