Stacey Solomon says she thinks she has “had her last baby” in the new series of her documentary – where she also clashes with her husband over the amount of romance in their lives.

Stacey and Joe Swash, who married in 2022 and have been together nine years, have filmed more of their home life for the BBC. But kicking off the TV series, the married pair are at odds over the state of their relationship.

Stacey says: “You said last time Pickle Cottage, it’s like our relationship, constantly working on it. I thought we were all right? And I haven’t seen you put much work in?”

Joe, 43, replies: “We are okay. I definitely feel there’s more room for romance between us this year.” Stacey, 35, then says: “I’m open to the idea. I’m ready for it. OK, bring it.

Grinning Joe adds: “It’s the first I have heard about it!”

The pair then go off for an overnight stay to celebrate Joe’s birthday, which sees them fishing and sharing a hot tub together. Joe says: “Romance takes a back seat when you have kids, so you sort of have to pick your moments for romance.“

Stacey replies: “Also romance is different at different stages of your life, isn’t it? So like at this stage in our life, romance is unloading the dishwasher. That’s sexy at this point in our lives.

“Not when we first met, romance was shaving your legs[then]. Thank God that bit is over,” she adds.

The episode then turns to show their youngest Belle going to nursery. And Stacey admits she gets “sad” as the kids grow up.

“Another one flies the nest. All the kids are at school, and we can have a lot of fun,” says Joe before asking: “D’you think that’s our last baby?”

Stacey replies: “I think that’s our last baby, bubs.” To which Joe says: “I think what we need to do is start looking forward to the future bits of the kids growing up instead of it being like ‘awww’.”

Stacey replies: “Yeah, that’s why I’m getting more animals, to be honest with you!”

On a more serious note, Stacey admits to her sister she is concerned she may have some signs of early menopause.

“I think I’m peri-menopausal. I’m snappy and I’m tired,” she says. “If you could test my tolerance, it is at an all time low.”

She calls up her physiologist friend Ollie over to Pickle Cottage to discuss things and possibly have some tests. “Mum did have early menopause, yeah, well, she was in her 30s,” Stacey tells him.

He then advises her to have some blood tests via a female specialist but says there is nothing to definitely suggest she has started the menopause.

The second series of Stacey & Joe returns to BBC One and iPlayer on September 9.
