Of course, they have a natter while in the kitchen as Gordon, who has been married to Tana Ramsay for over 30 years, made a rare comment about his ex.

It also marks the star’s first TV appearance since he shared that he had recently undergone surgery for skin cancer. The star announced his surgery last week, which eliminated cancer from the side of his face. Dish It Out had been filmed in advance of his announcement.

Speaking about his time training in Paris, revealing his favourite French comfort food, the star said: “When I was 22, your age, I found myself in Paris, getting myself up to speed with some incredible French cuisine.”

Gordon, who trained in France spoke about his ‘tremendous memories’ in the French capital, including the way his ex-girlfriend dumped him.

“If she hadn’t dumped me, you wouldn’t be here,” Gordon laughed. However things took a turn and Tilly was left rather embarrassed when her dad continued: “She taught me the best French I’ve ever known. It started off in the bedroom. It was bedroom French, that’s how you learn, it’s called pigeon French!”

A rather embarrassed Tilly swiftly moved on to the main event, cooking. To see the end results – fans can tune in when the episode is released on Prime Video tomorrow.

Last week, Gordon took to Instagram to inform his followers that he has had an operation to eliminate cancer from the side of his face.

He shared a photograph and issued an alert to fans, declaring: “Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma, thank you! Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend [red heart emoji] I promise you it’s not a face lift! I need a refund….” he continued.

The TV chef was flooded with well wishes in the comments, as one wrote: “Get well soon, dear chef,” whilst another remarked: “Well done you for getting a skin check! Something we should all be lining up for.”
