EXCLUSIVE: A source says EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa and her husband Dan Osborne are fully committed to saving their marriage after calling it quits earlier this year

Looking more loved-up than ever on a romantic holiday to Gran Canaria, Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne are determined to have a “drama-free marriage” now they’re back together, a source says. EastEnders actress Jacqueline, 32, and former TOWIE star Dan, 34, announced their shock split and even sold the family home earlier this year, but now the outlook appears brighter for the couple, who were pictured enjoying some end-of-summer fun in the Canary Islands with their daughters Ella, 10, and Mia, seven.

Our source says the pair are going all-out to keep the romance alive and stay united this time around. “They’ve worked so hard to get things back on track,” the source told us. “Making such a big statement about their split was a huge deal, especially as they knew their kids would probably see it one day or be asked about it in school. So it wasn’t something they did lightly.

“But there’s just something about them that always draws them back together. They’ve got amazing chemistry, and when you add the love for their kids into the mix, it’s a lot to give up. The stakes are really high for both of them, and they are fully committed to having a drama-free marriage from now on.”

The couple’s eight-year marriage has frequently been dogged by rumours of Dan’s alleged infidelity, and it seemed there was no going back when they confirmed their separation in March and asked for “respect and privacy”. They stressed their daughters would “remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care”. Their statement read, “Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart.”

Suggestions that all was not well first sprung up when their six-bedroom “forever home” went on the market in summer 2024, despite them overseeing three years of painstaking renovations. It finally sold for £1.6 million this spring, when it was also reported they had both removed their wedding rings.

At the time, rumours were flying that Dan had “secretly” bought a bachelor’s pad behind his wife’s back, and had already moved out of the family home. However, Jacqueline – who plays Lauren Branning in EastEnders – hit back at the speculation, telling her followers the flat was an “investment”. She also insisted that she and Dan were “talking constantly, there is no big feud”, before adding, “stop looking for one”.

A make-or-break trip to Mexico in April then seemed to set them back on the right path, and now our source says former I’m A Celeb winner Jacqueline is so keen to keep the family together she wants to try again with Dan.

“There’s even been talk around them about whether they might renew their vows. It’s been discussed before, but actually a lot of people think this might be the right time. They’ve put in the effort and Jac especially has worked really hard to get her head in the right place to learn to forgive him. She’s a tough cookie and will fight to keep her family together.

“Dan has grown up a lot over the last few years, and though he shouldn’t have needed reminding about what a good thing he had, he wasn’t the first and won’t be the last person to maybe lose sight of that. But he’s learned his lesson and is keen to wipe the slate clean and make her happy.”

While their relationship seems to be in a far healthier place at the moment, our source says the couple are hoping that Dan’s recent problems with a “ weird stalker” do not impact on the family’s safety or get in the way of their rekindled relationship.

In July, Dan claimed he had been the target of a campaign of “harassment”, which escalated so much that he was forced to switch off social media comments. The reality star even told how he blocked nine accounts in one day after a barrage of abuse and GIFs were allegedly posted on his Instagram account.

As well as posing a potential threat to the couple, the abuse is concerning as Dan needs to be active on social media to support his recently launched business venture – a tanning salon in Benfleet, Essex.

“Jacqueline knows Dan has to put himself out there to make his business work, but in an ideal world he wouldn’t,” said our source. “She knows that social media can be a bit of a trap for some people when it comes to messages and DMs, and she doesn’t want anything to harm them or what they have together.”

“This stalker thing showed there’s not really a way to avoid unwanted attention. He’s switched off his comments but who knows how long that can last when he needs to have social engagement for work? It’s a difficult situation.”

Jacqueline and Dan first began dating in 2013. They welcomed baby Ella in February 2015, and got engaged the same year. They tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at a manor house in Cheshire in June 2017, where they were joined by a host of celeb pals.

“I am the luckiest man in the world to be marrying the woman of my dreams,” Dan said at the time. Their second daughter, Mia, was born in June 2018.

In June this year, the pair marked their eighth wedding anniversary – and their fresh start – with a stay at a luxurious London hotel. With Jacqueline previously calling Dan “my bestest friend in the world”, it’s hoped this new chapter of their love story will run and run…
