Lainey Wilson Delivers Rockin’ Cover Of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer”

@thetraveladdictThis week, Country Radio Seminar (CRS) is happening in Nashville, which is an industry event that brings together radio people, industry professionals and tons of artist across several days.

Lainey Wilson performed during the week, breaking out a classic in Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer,” which was of course included on their 1986 Slippery When Wet album that shot to #1 in multiple countries including the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Norway, as well as top 5 in many more.

She definitely has a ton of rock influence in a lot of her music, so this is a natural fit and honestly, impressive that she got a crowd of industry people so invested in this cover. Lainey is a really high-energy performer, who could probably get just about any crowd on their feet, but still… this felt way more like a real concert than an industry conference.

Coming off the heels of her engagement to longtime boyfriend “Duck” Hodges probably helped put a little extra pep in her step, but she doesn’t miss and I love that she did something different, as opposed to debuting a new song or singing a radio hit of hers like so many other artists do.

Lainey has been covering this kind of classic rock for a long time, though, and used to post videos of it quite often on social media when she was coming up, so it definitely comes natural to her. Last year, she also opened up for the Rolling Stones, and joined them onstage for a rendition of “Dead Flowers” that was awesome, too.

I think she should add this one into her regular set… it’s always a crowd pleaser, and she pulls it off with ease:
