Janet Street-Porter recalled her unfaithful past in relationships on Loose Women, to the shock of the panel, prompting one audience member to interject with a brutal response.

One Loose Women fan was particularly brave this Monday as they yelled at Janet Street-Porter from the live studio crowd.

Sunetra Sarker took the helm of ITV’s daytime show on July 29, 2024, alongside co-stars Judi Love, Denise Welch and Janet Street-Porter as the panel embarked on a conversation about breaks in relationships.

The happy group were wondering if couples taking a pause in their romance, much like Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton did in the noughties, had found the key to a successful relationship when Janet, 77, admitted she’d been the one making mistakes in her own personal life.

“I went in and there was my boyfriend waiting in the bar”, Janet recalled, sharing an anecdote from a time where she was married and cheating on her beau with another man.

“I rushed up and slung my arms around his neck and as I looked over, I saw my husband, sitting”, she then added. The story took a bizarre turn when she continued: “I ran straight out and inexplicably got in a car boot but I don’t know quite why.”

Janet then remembered that her husband was “one of the ones” who eventually forgave her infidelity, leaving Denise to suggest: “well, you must be good at something Janet.”

The panellist and journalist refused to divulge anything else, maintaining a cheeky smile, leaving one audience member to yell: “is that why you’ve got a dodgy hip?”

Sunetra was quick to react, issuing an apology: “I can only apologise! The audience are joining in today.” Judi Love was left in a fit of laughter following the incident, but the panel eventually went back to their normal schedule with comedian and presenter Jason Manford opening up about his “dad guilt.”

This comes after Kaye Adams failed to appear on the set of the programme after telling her Instagram followers that she was feeling under the weather. Kaye, 61, was set to take on hosting duties on BBC Radio Scotland this Monday morning.

Sitting outside, in what appeared to be her garden this Sunday, July 28, Kaye shared a video in which she said: “Well I was really looking forward to getting back onto the radio tomorrow morning, but unfortunately I woke up sounding as if I had been eating woodbine all night.” She’d then added: “So, sadly not to be. I’m mainlining Jakemans so hopefully it’ll get better over the next couple of days.”

Kaye wasn’t the only missing Loose Women star as Ruth Langsford was also nowhere to be seen in the show. The former This Morning star made a long-awaited return to the programme last week after her split from Eamonn Holmes but hasn’t been seen since.

The announcement of the split between TV’s golden couple in May sent shockwaves through the showbiz world. Eamonn and Ruth’s marriage, often described as ‘rock solid’, had been one of the strongest in the industry, making the news of their divorce after 14 years all the more shocking.
