Loose Women’s Denise Welch has opened up about her experience with incontinence for the show’s latest cross-over with TENA, revealing that she has ‘regularly’ wet herself on air
Loose Women’s stars are known for their frank discussions, and Denise Welch has taken it up a notch with her recent revelation on the show. The actress and TV presenter confessed that she frequently experiences incontinence while on Loose Women. In a joint advert between Loose Women and TENA Silhouette, an incontinence pad brand, celebrities Nadia Sawalha, Kéllé Bryan and Denise Welch discussed their personal encounters with the issue.
Denise confessed: “I have wet myself for as long as I can remember. Whether I cough, whether I sneeze, whether I laugh – I’ve always got through it by humour but some women are mortified by it.” Nadiya, who described herself as a “professional oversharer”, admitted that dealing with bladder weakness was challenging for her. “When bladder weakness hit in my late 30s after having the kids, I did feel embarrassed about it,” she revealed.

Kéllé highlighted how prevalent the problem can be, especially post-pregnancy. “Post baby it’s really common like if I’m in the gym bouncing around, I mean why don’t I just wear TENA!” she quipped. Towards the end of the conversation, Denise acknowledged that she has experienced incontinence issues while filming the show. “Have I wet myself live on air?” she asked herself. “Yes Regularly!”
Last week, Denise Welch shared her fears on Loose Women about her stalker being released early from prison. “I myself have a stalker who is in prison and is being released early. I am not allowed to see any of his mental health reports as regards to the progress of his mental health,” she revealed. Discussing the lack of information and protection measures, she continued, “When I asked ‘Will he be tagged?’ they said, ‘Well, that depends if his team decides if that’s encroaching on his human rights.’

“So this is what we’re dealing with in this country and I’m glad we’re talking about it. I feel really sorry for anyone who is now living in fear because of these releases.” In April, Toraq Wyngard, 64, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court for stalking that caused distress, receiving a seven-year and seven-month prison term. Denise, who participated in the trial via video link from America, told the court: “It has changed my life. I have a wonderful life and this man has permanently scarred it.”
