Amid her split from Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford has taken to Instagram to address a cheerful nod to her Loose Women team through a new post on her Instagram story.

Despite deciding to take a break from Loose Women, Ruth Langsford gave her team a heartfelt nod, remembering one of her good times on set.

The TV star, 64, took to her Instagram story this Friday, June 7, as she shared a “throwback” to one of her appearances on the daytime ITV program from June, 2027. Ruth can be seen glowing, sporting a coral-coloured top while at the Loose Women table.

“Love a throwback”, she penned as a caption, “and funnily… I had blonde highlights way back then too!” This follows her decision to take a step back from the famous panel for the rest of the month of June, while she plans to return to the show next month. Ruth was last seen alongside her co-stars in May, 2024. A subtle sign viewers haven’t heard the last of her.

After 14 years of marriage, Ruth and her former husband Eamonn Holmes announced they were going their separate ways in late May, with their work schedules cited as the main cause of the rift.

While other sources maintained the pair had been leading “separate lives” for years before their split, particularly after their brutal axe from This Morning, Ruth and Eamonn were said to remain on good terms after their breakup.

Unfortunately, as more revelations were made and Eamonn’s friendship with a mystery divorcee was exposed, Ruth’s pain turned to anger. “Ruth was hurt when she learned about Eamonn’s friendship with another woman but she is strong and she will be back soon with a smile on her face, putting her best foot forward, as she always does”, one source told The Mirror.

“She needs a bit of time to regroup after everything that’s gone on, which is understandable, but she plans to return to Loose Women, with renewed vigour, in July.”

Eamonn is reportedly being consoled in his separation heartbreak by a blonde divorcee in her forties, working as a relationship counsellor. Both Eamonn and his lady friend are said to have met one another last year and their friendship is blossoming.

The pair have embarked on several outings together, including to a safari park, and Eamonn is said to have treated his friend to several gifts while also endorsing a charity linked to her work and helping to host a fundraiser.

Last year, Eamonn attended a Beyonce concert and a Centre Parcs visit with his close friend and also treated her to tickets to see his favourite team, Manchester United.

Eamonn met his new friend when she commented on a post on Twitter, now X, and their friendship on the social media platform became IRL. The Daily Mirror has reached out to Eamonn’s representatives for comment.

“She works for a charity Eamonn is involved with from time to time”, an insider close to Eamonn said. Meanwhile, Ruth is said to be fuming as she was only made aware of the connection recently.

“Ruth was obviously aware that her marriage was crumbling, but as details emerge, her upset has turned to anger. Eamonn’s friend is bowled over by being lavished with attention and kindness from him”, a source told The Sun.

While Eamonn coyly broke his silence over the split on GB News, Ruth has kept her thoughts a secret as she attempts to move on. But could there be trouble ahead?
