Loose Women panellists begged Strictly Come Dancing bosses not to ‘take the show out of her life’ as she weighs in on crisis

Loose Women panellist Coleen Nolan shared the one thing about Strictly Come Dancing that ‘will no longer work for her’ after allegations about the professional dancers emerged.

Graziano Di Prima was axed from the competition over allegations about his treatment of Love Island star Zara McDermott. In a heartbreaking admission, the Sicilian admitted he kicked the reality star but did not spit at her. McDermott later broke her silence and said it wasn’t an isolated incident.

Weeks before, concerns were raised about Giovanni Pernice’s treatment of his former celebrity partners, including Amanda Abbington. Amanda has described professional Giovanni Pernice’s behaviour as “unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean”. The Italian dancer denies the claims.

Anton du Beke was also dragged into the row as he faced scrutiny as the BBC probes into “serious misconduct” allegations within the programme. On Monday afternoon’s Loose Women, which saw Ruth Langsford return to her post after weeks away, the ladies discussed the drama unfolding on Strictly.

Speaking about an aspect of Strictly she no longer likes, Coleen said: “The only thing for me… I am its biggest fan. The only thing that won’t work for me now is those silly VTs they do on top of a Ferris wheel or something. I’ll be going, ‘hmm, are they that close?’

“But I still wanna see them in the rehearsal room and I still wanna see them do the routine and I think now that it has come out and they have put things into place to make sure nothing like that can happen again. But you cannot take Strictly out of my life. Please. There’s no point in living.”

Ruth went on to praise her partner Anton and said She said: “I had a wonderful experience on Strictly and had the best partner in Anton du Beke. He raised an eyebrow occasionally and I would burst into tears and he would have to take me for a cup of tea. I had a wonderful time. You don’t really see the other contestants because you’re in your own rehearsal room. You only kind of meet up on Friday and then you do the show on Saturday.

“It is a terrifying experience, but I knew that going into it. I’m not a dancer. The trouble is the spotlight is on some people and there are many others who had a fantastic experience with Strictly and did get on with their partners.”
