The Nolans will reunite for their first public performance since sister Linda’s death, raising funds for cancer charities while performing iconic songs alongside Denise, Maureen, and Anne

The Nolans will reunite for their first public performance together since the death of sister Linda.

Sisters Denise, Maureen and Anne take to the stage at Simply The Best, a star-studded fundraising concert in aid of Weston Park Cancer Charity, on October 4, at Sheffield City Hall.

They will perform Tell Me It’s Not True from Blood Brothers, a musical that holds deep family significance. Maureen and Denise, along with their late sisters Bernie and Linda, all once appeared in the iconic show in London’s West End, earning them a Guinness World Record.

Alongside The Nolans, the bill features Layton Williams, Dr Ranj, Strictly’s Janette Manrara, Hayley Tamaddon, Sam Bailey, Zoe Tyler and Rustie Lee.

Having been personally affected by cancer with four sisters previously battling the disease, Denise, 73, Maureen, 71, and Anne, 74, feel especially proud to honour their memory by helping to raise vital funds. Linda died in January from pneumonia after living with incurable breast cancer.

The evening will then conclude with I’m In The Mood For Dancing. Remarkably, this will be the first time Denise has ever sung the group’s signature hit, as she left the act before the record’s release in 1979.

Denise said: “I’ve never sung I’m In The Mood For Dancing before, so to finally perform it alongside my sisters and for such a meaningful reason feels very special.

“Cancer has touched our family in the most devastating way, so being able to use our voices to raise money for others going through it means the world to us.”

Anne added: “This will be my first time performing Tell Me It’s Not True, which makes it incredibly emotional for me. To sing it with Denise and Maureen and to know that Bernie and Linda once performed it too will be such a powerful moment for us as sisters.”

The following week, on October 11, The Nolans will appear at the Talking Pictures Festival of Film & TV Roadshow at the Hebden Bridge Picture House

Hosted by Sherrie Hewson and Mike Read, the sisters will take part in an exclusive Q&A reflecting on their extraordinary 50-year career.

Maureen commented: “We’ve had such a varied career in showbiz and our amazing fans have been there, every step of the way. This will be the first time we get to really look back and celebrate our story.”
