Charlotte Chilton admits she wouldn’t want Conor Maynard involved in their daughter’s life.
The Traitors star and pop star Conor are expecting their first child after she fell pregnant following a one-night stand. The pair met at a boozy night out and were introduced by the show’s winner, Harry Clarke, the boyfriend of Conor’s younger sister, Anna. But although the pair instantly hit it off, it’s emerged that their relationship, although they are not dating has taken a dramatic turn.
It emerged last month that Charlotte, 32, had fallen pregnant with Conor’s baby and despite initially keeping the identity of the dad a secret, she decided she “won’t be silenced” and shared the news with fans. In a new admission, Charlotte opened up during an appearance on Loose Women about whether she wants Conor involved in their daughter’s life.
When asked by Gloria Hunniford whether she would like Conor to be a part of Penelope’s life, she said: “I’m always torn with what’s best for her. For me and my mental health, and the damage that he’s done to me, absolutely not. I absolutely wouldn’t want that But, I’m an adult and I understand what I’ve entered into here and if that’s how it has to be then I have to suck it up and put her first.

“I would like it for her at some point in her life, I don’t think there’s really much point at this stage. In the future, maybe, that might be nice for her. But it’s got to be all Penelope’s decision, really, I think, not mine.”
Anchor Christine Lampard revealed that the programme had reached out to Conor, who chose not to respond to the programme. The Irish broadcaster reiterated Conor’s statement, stating it is “Charlotte’s story.” Despite falling out with winner Harry, Charlotte went on to say her Traitor’s co-stars had been an “extended family” while supporting her.
“I’ve been sat at Johnny’s with Miles when I thought I couldn’t do it,” she said, before adding Dianne had been a “massive help” to make her feel “empowered.” Charlotte previously revealed she thought she would miscarry the baby due to the stress she had faced since falling pregnant.
“It was so stressful that doctors twice put me on bed rest. I thought I was going to miscarry,” she told The Sun. Charlotte went on to claim that since falling pregnant she had felt “abandoned and alone”. She went on to add: “He told me, ‘I’m not ready to be a dad. It’s nothing against you, Charlotte, but even if we’d been together three years, I would be the exact same. I do not want to have a child. That’s why I haven’t got a dog’.” The star who appeared on the BBC series branded Conor “immature and selfish” after he reportedly stated he didn’t want Charlotte to share the news with people.
