The Traitors star Charlotte Chilton requested Conor Maynard to take another DNA test after claiming he is the father to her baby – and the result has left her “shell shocked”. She gave birth to her first child last year, a daughter named Penelope, and said Conor was the dad.
While pregnant, Conor didn’t address any of the public claims but in March this year he issued a statement revealing the results of a DNA test. Singer Conor set the record straight over his paternity and ‘dead beat dad’ claims, confirming he’s not father of Charlotte’s child.
Charlotte and Conor briefly dated following their encounter at a club on the night of The Traitors ‘ final event. Despite his initial DNA test, Charlotte is said to have requested he took another.

It came after it was suggested an unidentified male was present when Conor’s sample was taken. However, the result still stands as Conor is not Penelope’s dad.
“Charlotte is shell-shocked by the news,” a source told the Sun. “She has been fighting for the truth to come out for the past 18 months during an already difficult time as a first-time single mum.
“It’s been incredibly challenging, but she desperately wanted Penny to know who her dad is. It’s never been about the fact Conor is in the public eye or has money behind him. Charlotte had no intention of ‘trapping’ him.”
They added that it has “always been about” having a father’s name on Penelope’s birth certificate. Charlotte is said to be “reeling” from the result and considering what to do next.
In a statement shared with the Mirror, Charlotte’s representatives said: “On behalf of our client Charlotte Chilton, we would like to address the story published in today’s Sun, confirming Conor Maynard is not the biological father of her beautiful daughter, Penelope.
“For those of you who have followed Charlotte’s journey since her appearance on BBC’s The Traitors, will know she has fought an extraordinary battle for truth and justice with heartfelt conviction.”We are forever grateful to everyone who has shown unwavering love and support to Charlotte over the past 12 months. Special thanks must also go to Charlotte’s rockstar legal advisors, Lorna McCammon (SFR Law) and Paul Lunt (Brabners) for their invaluable counsel and guidance. We could not have done this without you.”Charlotte will now take time to process, heal and reflect and when she is ready, she will finally share her story in full.”
The singer decided to address the claims in March as he issued his first statement. He said at the time: “Earlier this week, I took a paternity test regarding Charlotte Chilton’s baby girl, Penelope, in the presence of her legal representative.
“Today I’ve received the test results which confirm that I am not Penelope’s father. I am glad that the speculation can finally be put to an end.
“All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news – there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best. Conor.”

During her time on The Traitors, Charlotte had been in a relationship with ex-wife Laura and the pair had been together for seven years before things sadly came to an end.
Charlotte revealed that she’d struggled to get pregnant in the past after being diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). The condition, which is believed to affect around one in every 10 women in the UK, can affect fertility as it may cause absent or irregular periods.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror in November, the former The Traitors star opened up on her difficult pregnancy. She said: “I loved the baby inside me, but everything else was s**t.
“I remember thinking, ‘This is vile. Women lie to women and say, It’s magical. There’s nothing magical about this.’ I was really, really negative, but I did have SPD [Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, which causes severe pelvic pain during pregnancy], gestational diabetes, I had an allergy to my hormones.
“I had everything, so I was constantly in and out of the hospital. I couldn’t do much for myself. I had to stop working for the last three months.”
The Mirror has contacted Conor and Charlotte’s representatives for comment.
