Trinny Woodall has dropped hints about why her US TV show with long-time co-star Susannah Constantine didn’t take off.
The fashion guru and television host discussed the duo’s time as style maestros in the States on The Oprah Winfrey Show, while chatting on Jamie Laing’s Great Company podcast.
Trinny, who rose to prominence alongside Susannah with their BAFTA-nominated BBC series What Not to Wear, also enjoyed success across the pond. She was quick to sing Oprah’s praises, but alluded to a “missed opportunity”.
She revealed: “It was amazing compared to what there was on TV then. So, I learned a lot from doing those shows. We did about six/seven shows with her, and then we actually signed a contract with them to do a…
“Because they used to take talent and make TV shows with them and then something happened and we didn’t end up doing it. I can’t say… I can’t, no, I really… this is not…”

Despite Jamie’s curiosity about the specifics, Trinny remained tight-lipped, yet intriguingly noted: “It didn’t happen. It was a missed opportunity and it didn’t happen. I’m not going to go into details.”
When questioned about her feelings as the chance slipped away, she admitted: “Yes, but Susannah and I were already pregnant as well, and that wasn’t the reason why, but we were pregnant, so there were other things happening.”
The stylish pair were long-time collaborators, having also starred in the 2006Â ITVÂ reality show Trinny and Susannah Undress, and Trinny and Susannah Undress the Nation.
In a 2021 interview with Platinum magazine, Susannah confessed that ending their on-screen partnership was “very tough”, as they had to carve out individual identities separate from the Trinny and Susannah brand.
Despite parting ways on TV, the duo have remained friends and business partners. They’ve also found success in other areas, including authoring several books together, such as What Your Clothes Say About You and The Body Shape Bible.

However, the transition wasn’t smooth sailing. In July 2020, Susannah revealed she battled anxiety when her professional relationship with Trinny ended.
She even likened the split to a “divorce” during an appearance on Loose Women, admitting that redefining herself was “very difficult”.
On the other hand, Trinny launched beauty and skincare company Trinny London in 2017, which, by 2021, had an impressive valuation of £180 million, according to Forbes.
The company reportedly quadrupled its profits during lockdown, and the fashion guru currently holds the majority stake in the company, owning 42 per cent.
