DiJonai Carrington SUSPENDED For MULTIPLE DIRTY PLAYS This Season! Protect Caitlin Clark!
DiJonai Carrington of WNBA Dallas Wings leads the WNBA in exactly one category this season, and it’s not points, assists, or rebounds. She’s the undisputed queen of flagrant fouls with three already on her record.
To put that in perspective, most players go entire seasons without a single flagrant foul.
Carrington managed three in just a little over a month, including hits on Skylar Diggins, Jessica Shepard, and of course, the infamous eyepoke to Caitlin Clark of WNBA Indiana Fever last year. She is facing suspension for multiple dirty plays this season.
Caitlin Clark nemesis addresses claims she plays ‘dirty’ in the WNBA
Caitlin Clark nemesis DiJonai Carrington has spoken out on social media bout claims she plays ‘dirty’, bashing those who feed into the WNBA narrative about her.
The narrative about Carrington reached a fever pitch after Tuesday’s game, where her Dallas Wings played the Seattle Storm.
Carrington received a flagrant-1 foul after making excessive contact with Skylar Diggins.
Last week, Carrington screamed in the face of a referee, who pulled a security guard in between the two, a move the guard said was a ‘microaggression.’ A hard foul against the Minnesota Lynx also took place last month.
‘Yall fans swear I’m such a dirty player,’ Carrington said on social media. ‘I’m SO over this narrative bc if u really know bball, u know I jus play hard asf & never give up on a play. & yup, we challenged the last couple flagrants & got em rescinded bc I’m ALWAYS tryna make a play on the ball nun more, nun less.’
The actions come several months after Carrington, then a member of the Connecticut Sun, poked Clark in the eye during a playoff series against the Indiana Fever.

Carrington said the move was unintentional but later made fun of it on Instagram alongside former Clark teammate and girlfriend NaLyssa Smith, who now also plays for the Wings.
Back in March, Carrington was a guest on Angel Reese’s podcast where she talked about the level of criticism she receives.
‘They be real loose at the mouth,” Carrington said. I know they think it’s trolls, but it’s not just trolls. It be people that we see in real life.’
Comments on social media for the Wings star go beyond her play on the court.
‘I hate when people talk about that, like, “Why do you have blonde hair?” I got black eyebrows. I got black arm hair, black leg hair… and I don’t care. I’m still a natural blonde.’
Carrington will have her next chance to change the perception about herself on Friday night when the Wings play the Los Angeles Sparks.
