Morgan Wallen Is Taking A Look At His Own Life

Country superstar Morgan Wallen is taking a closer look at his personal growth following the release of his new album, I’m The Problem.

In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the singer opened up about maturing and a new sense of clarity he has gained.

“Well, I think there was a little bit of, you know, playing into just everything I’ve been through in my life not like I’m the victim or anything, I’ve caused a lot of it. I think that’s my way of accepting that responsibility and saying, ‘Hey, maybe I am the problem sometimes’. It was also a moment, you know, like, where I thought just because of some of the recent changes and things that I’ve done in my life, this might be the last time I get to honestly play that part, you know? I don’t know that for a fact, I just live day by day, but that just seems to be where I’m at as a man, maybe just one last time of being that guy,” Wallen said of the album title.

Wallen Says He Has Worked To Remove The People And Things Causing Him Problems

The country singer says that although he doesn’t have everything in life figured out, he is trying to remove the unhealthy influences that have affected his decisions in recent years.

“Yeah, I mean, I’m not gonna sit here and act like I’ve got it all figured out, you know, because I definitely don’t. But I think I’ve identified things and people, those two things combined, I think I’ve identified problems that I don’t really want to partake in anymore, and I’m able to see a lot more clearly now,” he explained.

With a number of setbacks negatively impacting his career, Wallen has frequently blamed alcohol as a reason for many of his mistakes in recent years, including the 2024 chair-throwing incident.

The “Last Night” singer was arrested on April 8, 2024 for allegedly throwing a chair off the sixth story rooftop of Chief’s, Eric Church’s bar in Downtown Nashville.

The chair landed on the sidewalk near three police officers, who immediately went upstairs to investigate. Employees told the police officers that Wallen threw the chair and after watching surveillance footage, they arrested him.

The country singer shared that since he has removed those vices holding him back, he no longer has excuses for any irresponsible behavior.

“Once you take a step back from a couple of those things that are clouding your vision, and for me this is probably as clear as I’ve seen the world in my entire life. If I were to go and make a terrible mistake or do something stupid right now. I wouldn’t have any excuse, you know? Back then, I always had some kind of excuse. “That really wasn’t me”, you know, [or] “I would never actually do that,” I always had some kind of crutch or something to blame it on, I don’t have that right now. So it’s a different place, it’s maybe a little more pressure, but I also feel a lot more powerful, too,” he said.

The Country Singer Says Having His Son Helped Him Keep His Circle Small

Wallen has recently opened up and shared that the birth of his son, Indie, has drastically changed who he prioritizes in life.

“Yeah, I think I learned that lesson a lot. I mean, you’d think I would’ve learned it after one time, but it’s taken me a little more than it should have. But also, there were times when I really didn’t care,” Morgan said. “I did whatever I wanted and whatever, but you know, you get older, you have a kid, and you start thinking about how that’s impacting other people and not just yourself. I think whenever he was born, I started really looking at the world that way.”

The country star included the song “Superman” for Indie on his new album, explaining that he has been trying for a while to write something for him.

“None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it,” Wallen shared.
