Millie revealed that her puppy Bella had been taken in for emergency surgery

Millie Radford has revealed she was left in tears after discovering her puppy Bella needed emergency surgery to prevent a potentially fatal condition.

The 22 Kids and Counting star, 23, took to TikTok earlier this week alongside husband Harley Passmore to share the emotional update, telling fans that the young pup required an urgent operation or risked her bladder exploding.

“She has an outside hernia, so basically, it’s now affecting her bowel, and she’s got a split muscle as well,” Millie explained in the video. “She needs to have an emergency operation tomorrow. Because if not, her bladder will basically just explode. She will pass away.”

Millie rushed Bella to the vet after discovering a lump, initially expecting a routine appointment for jabs. But the vet quickly diagnosed the serious condition, leaving the young mum in shock.

“I actually rang my mum whilst I was still in the appointment,” Millie recalled. “I was in absolute disbelief, I was crying my eyes out.”

The couple shared that Bella was admitted for overnight care, with surgery scheduled the following day.

“She’s really lucky,” Millie added. “Because she’s such a small puppy, the hernia is actually really, really big, he said she’s very lucky.”

Millie’s daughter Ophelia had been with her at the appointment, as the visit had not initially seemed serious.

“I felt really guilty. I was an absolute state,” she said, adding that the vet was shocked Bella had been running around like normal given the severity of her condition.

Fans flooded the TikTok with support, with one writing: “Well done for noticing the lump and taking her in.”

Another added: “Sending prayers, speedy recovery, love and hugs.”

Millie shares update

Millie then returned to TikTok to share an update on Bella’s condition. Sitting on the sofa alone in an oversized hoodie, she looked visibly relieved.

“So, Bella had the surgery. Everything went great,” she shared. “She coped absolutely fine throughout, which I’m really, really happy with.”

Millie went on to explain the full extent of the damage.

“By the sounds of things, her intestines were growing with the hernia. So they’ve stitched up the hernia. She woke up great, she’s eating, drinking, playing.”

Although Bella is currently on pain relief, Millie hopes she’ll be able to bring her home soon.

“She can hopefully come home tomorrow. Fingers crossed she just keeps doing great. I’m just really glad that we have managed to be able to do the surgery. Thanks to my mum and dad for helping me out massively.”

She ended the video with an emotional reflection. “I can’t believe how much of an impact she already has in our household. I can’t wait to have her back home.”

Supportive messages poured in once again after the update.
