‘I felt like I’d failed me’
Giovanna Fletcher previously opened up about going through a heartbreaking pregnancy loss.
TV presenter Giovanna – who is on The Chase Celebrity Special today (October 5) – is married to McFly star Tom Fletcher. The showbiz couple are parents to three sons – Buzz Michelangelo Fletcher, born in 2014, Buddy Bob Fletcher, born in 2016 and Max Mario Fletcher, born in 2018.
However, more than 10 years ago, the couple were faced with heartbreak after Giovanna suffered a miscarriage at six weeks.

Giovanna Fletcher on tragic miscarriage
Talking in 2018, Giovanna recalled her devastating miscarriage in 2012, before her eldest child Buzz was born.
Speaking for Heart World’s Where’s Your Head At? campaign, she shared: “For me [the miscarriage] happened at six weeks. So before we had really told anyone [about the pregnancy].
“So then when you are telling people [about your miscarriage], you’re not only telling them that you were pregnant but that you’d lost a child. I felt like I’d failed me, I’d failed Tom [and] I’d failed the baby.”
The I’m A Celebrity… star continued: “It was my first taste of motherhood. And I think it affected me in a really bad way. But again, talking about it is the best, best thing because you hear how other people have felt and you realise you’re not on your own.”

‘It took me years to be able to talk about it’
Meanwhile, in 2020, Giovanna discussed her miscarriage again, in a bid to raise awareness for the horribly sad but frequent ordeal women may go through.
She told The Sun: “I had a miscarriage before Buzz and it took me years to be able to talk about it. But once you do it’s hugely comforting to know that you’re not alone.
“Miscarriage is still common and it’s amazing that people don’t feel like they can tell people that they are pregnant until 12 weeks because they don’t know what might happen.
“When a miscarriage happens you need the people in your life to be there for you. And you don’t need to feel ashamed or like you’ve done anything wrong. You need the people in your life to be able to give you the support.”
