The NHS doctor and ITV star has been praised for ‘keeping it real’

ITV regular guest star Dr Amir Khan has been praised by fans after making an honest admission from his home. As well as being a full-time GP, and often appearing on shows such as Lorraine and This Morning, Dr Amir also regularly shares updates with his 721,000 Instagram followers.

In a candid update, Dr Amir shared a selfie and told his fans: “Team, I’m not ashamed to admit this, it’s Friday 6pm and I’m home, showered and in my PJs and I’m having pizza for tea. When I say I’m exhausted – honestly I’m telling you I’m exhausted.”

The NHS doctor went on to say he loves “every part” of the work he does, adding: “I am thankful each day to be in this fortunate position”. However, he said he was too tired and that he needed to “listen to my body”. The GP continued: “I was supposed to go to an event tonight in Bradford, but the thought of getting dolled up and leaving the house tonight was giving me slight anxiety, I was just so tired.”

Instead he opted for “PJs and pizza and an early night”, adding: “I love that for me xx”. Fans clearly appreciated the sentiment, with many rushing to the post’s comments section.

One said: “Well done for listening to your body! You do so much for everyone else you really need to make more time for yourself”, with a second adding: “The absolute perfect evening. Get yourself all cosy and watch something you love. Thank you for always keeping it real x”.

A third wrote: “What a great idea. You live life at full throttle, dropping down a gear to coast is very wise.” A fourth said: “General Practice is full on and whilst rewarding at times thoroughly exhausting! Chill sounds like the perfect antidote for recovery!”
