American supermodel Janice Dickinson, 70, tripped over a cable in the Kruger National Par while filming the All Stars series of I’m A Celebrity – falling face-first to the ground
A former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! contestant has launched legal action after a nasty accident on the show.
Supermodel Janice Dickinson is suing ITV bosses over a horror fall on I’m A Celebrity.
The 70-year-old was forced to quit the show after suffering an injury while filming the South African edition of the reality programme in 2023.
The American model and businesswoman tripped over a cable in the Kruger National Park, falling face-first to the ground, it was reported. The nasty accident was said to have left her with a head wound, a black eye and fears of a skull fracture before she was rushed to hospital.
Doctors later ruled out a break, but Dickinson was forced to pull out of the All Stars version of the show, which was hosted bytelly favourites Ant & Dec. She has now filed a personal injury claim against ITV, seeking damages at the High Court.
The documents – which list it as a personal injury claim – were filed on September 19. Dickinson’s representative, Dermot McNamara, confirmed a claim has been issued at the High Court, in relation to her appearance on the show. He said she “looks forward to giving her full account in due course”.

Limited details are available, but it says: Dickinson v ITV Studios Limited. It is not clear how much she is seeking, but it could be hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Speaking after her ordeal, the self-proclaimed “world’s first supermodel” recalled the moment she was reunited with her husband, Robert Gerner.
She said: “My husband’s face didn’t budge when he saw me – it was probably like waking up and seeing me every morning with this wrinkly old pruney face “But he held my hand really tight so I knew something must be up.”
Although she called it an “honest accident”, Dickinson confirmed ITV had paid her medical bills in Los Angeles, where she underwent intensive laser treatment with a skin specialist.
She added: “If you look really closely now, there’s still an indentation on my forehead, which I don’t think will ever fill out.
The star insisted she wanted to return to the camp but admitted production made the right call in keeping her out.
She added: “I was in shock even a day after. I think people in the campsite couldn’t have handled it.”
Dickinson, who was a household name in the 1970s and 1980s and later became a judge on America’s Next Top Model, said she was devastated to leave the show.
She said: “Even when I was on a stretcher, I was crying: ‘I came here to win this contest’.” The larger-than-life star added: “Emotions were at a high. I was crying and laughing and peeing on myself at the same time. It was terrible – and I’d done some horrible trials, but none as horrible as that fall.”
Dickinson’s agent and an ITV spokesperson declined to comment.
