From spats to compliments: Katie Price admires Victoria Beckham’s look

Katie Price is currently embroiled in plenty of feuds at the moment, but the mum-of-five seemingly has no desire to revisit one of her most famous spats with Victoria Beckham.

The glamour model icon, 47, and Posh Spice, 51, have taken several swipes at each other over the years – with Katie even claiming the singer-turned-designer sang ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’ at her during one of their awkward run-ins.

But it seems Katie isn’t holding a grudge and has some kind words for her old foe. The rare compliment from Katie for Victoria comes as the Spice Girl faces fresh heartache over son Brooklyn Beckham’s family vow.

Speaking on the latest episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie and her younger sister Sophie were discussing short hairstyles on women when the nice words for Victoria manifested.

“Victoria Beckham, I think she suited short hair. […] I think it can really be quite sexy on women actually,” the two-time I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star mused.

Katie’s kind words are a far cry from the days when she couldn’t resist slagging off Victoria. The two women’s feud initially sparked in 2000 when Katie became envious over Victoria’s professional partnership with her then-partner, Dane Bowers.

The pair originally began as mates, travelling across the nation with David and Dane to publicise Victoria’s 2000 track, Out Of My Mind. However, Katie held the Beckhams responsible for her eventual break-up with Dane, insisting their influence “transformed” him.

“He used to say ‘Why can’t we be like Victoria and David?’ Like the way they were in love – which I thought we were,” she revealed. “He just kept comparing everything. I think it went to his head that he worked for Victoria. He was always going away with her.”

The situation escalated further the next year when Katie alleged that Posh and a pal performed Who Let The Dogs Out in her direction at Manchester United’s players’ lounge. What ensued were years of bitter exchanges, with Katie branding VB as having “horrible teeth.”

Victoria raised the stakes by labelling Katie ‘vile’ on television, prompting her rival to retort, “She’s got a great-looking husband, a little boy, and all the money in the world. She hasn’t got the looks, but you can’t have everything.”

Posh was even alleged to have once switched flights upon discovering she’d be travelling on the same aircraft as Katie – prompting a rather sharp retort from her representative.

The spokesperson told the Daily Star: “Victoria doesn’t get drawn into public tittle-tattle with anyone – let alone her. It’s not her style. Sadly for her, Victoria’s far too busy being what she is desperate to be – a success in America – to worry about this.

“Victoria is launching her new primetime show on America’s huge NBC network next week. While Victoria has her own show on US television, she is desperate to be recognised and make a name for herself – fighting to get a few cable viewers.”

However, apart from Victoria’s brief-lived solo career venture, by the time Katie encountered Peter Andre in the jungle, it was undeniable that Brand Beckham was delivering a more powerful impact. But everything changed when Katie and Peter got married and sold the rights for £1.75million – almost twice the cash Victoria and David got for their own wedding in 1999.
