Kaye Adams has claimed her reputation has been “dragged through the mud” following her sudden removal from her BBC Scotland radio show. The well-known broadcaster, who is also a regular on ITV’s Loose Women, was abruptly taken off air from her morning radio programme earlier this month.
Adams was removed from her hosting job on BBC Radio Scotland while bosses conduct an inquiry. It is believed that complaints against the 62-year-old were raised under the BBC’s Call It Out scheme.
Rumours suggest that the decision was made in response to a complaint about her behaviour, but the BBC has yet to confirm the reason. Adams expressed frustration that the corporation has not provided her with any details of the allegations levelled against her.
Now, a statement released on her behalf reads: “After three of the most distressing weeks of my professional life and seeing my previously untarnished name publicly dragged through the mud, BBC Scotland has still not provided me with any details of the allegations which have been made against me.”

Adams vehemently denied an incident on October 8 where she is alleged to have “stormed out” of a meeting, stating it “categorically did not happen”. She added: “There was certainly no shouting on my part; it’s not my style.
“I have been inundated with messages of support from people who I have dealt with both personally and professionally over the decades, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.”
Adams joined the ranks at BBC Scotland in 2010 and is a familiar face on ITV’s Loose Women panel. A representative for BBC Scotland told the PA news agency: “We would not comment on individuals.”

It comes as Adams, who had been host of a BBC radio show for several days a week saw her show taken off-air for two weeks. Kaye has been replaced on air by Connie McLaughlin while investigations are ongoing.
A source had told the Daily Mail: “Kaye is regarded as one of the more calm members of the Loose Women cast.” It is thought that the complaints came about through the BBC’s Call It Out scheme.
The scheme was set up to deal with questionable behaviour. It comes after the scandal involving former MasterChef presenters John Torode and Gregg Wallace unfolded.
A source from the BBC confirmed to the outlet that Kaye is not expected to return to her radio show for at least two weeks, but a spokesperson for the TV star insisted that “no complaints had been presented to her by the BBC.”
However, she could return to ITV next week. While Friday’s Loose Women was taken off air due to the racing, it’s expected to be back in its normal lunchtime slot on Monday, with Kaye potentially among the panellists.
