Kerry Katona has slammed double standards for women and men as she opened up on her own past. The model and TV star has slammed the way men and women are treated differently by people.

The mum-of-three – who has Molly, 23, and Lilly Sue, 22, with first husband Brian McFadden, Heidi, 17, and Max, 16, with second husband Mark Croft and youngest DJ, 10, with late husband George Kay – admits it can be tough balancing her own life and that of her children’s, as she slammed the quick criticism of women and mothers.

Speaking in her new! magazine column, Kerry wrote: “There’s still a massive bias towards men, that’s my rant this week! If I was to go on holiday without my kids I’d get scrutinised, yet I’m bringing them up, putting them to bed, through private education and doing school runs.

“A man can go on holiday, sleep with a million girls and it’s supported. Women are more entitled to go on a holiday and have a break. I’ve made so many mistakes but I own them – yet no one seems to let me move on from them because I’m a woman and a mother. I’ve got kids by different men and I’m called a s**g. Boris Johnson can have seven kids and he’s applauded.”

Kerry recently found love with her boyfriend Paolo Margaglione, 33, and admitted she is open to having more kids. She said: “I’m definitely open to having more kids – and I know my children would be happy for me, if that was the case.”

A source added: “Kerry feels like this is her last chance to have another baby. She absolutely adores her family and loves her children. She always talks about them – they’re her pride and joy and her priority. With Paulo, she really feels like she’s met her soulmate. He would like more kids too – it feels like they both want the same thing.”

Kerry also recently admitted without her children she “would not be sat here today”. She explained how tough things were when she was growing up in the spotlight after finding fame in Atomic Kitten.

“I’m 45 now, and I still struggle with the fame, which is one of the reasons why I left. It wasn’t what I expected. Aged 19, I was on antidepressants because I couldn’t handle the intrusion of what it is,” she said on BBC Breakfast.

“I realised I didn’t want the fame or the riches. I wanted to be a mum and a wife and, being a kid from a foster home, that was all I ever actually craved. There were so many lows. And I wouldn’t change any of it, because it’s made me who I am today. And like I said, I left Atomic Kitten because I couldn’t handle the fame. But for me, I don’t know why there was a massive interest.”

Explaining how her kids kept her going, she said: “I turned to drugs. I didn’t know how else to cope with it. I mean, I haven’t gone down that road in 17 years, but I’ll take accountability and hold my hands up.

“But that was the only thing that kind of supported me. It was my friend, until it wasn’t my friend. If I didn’t have my children, I guarantee I would not be sat here today and they kept me going every single day.”
