Linda Robson has revealed her true feelings on the huge Loose Women changes

Loose Women star Linda Robson has revealed her true feelings on the ITV show’s major changes amid fears it could be scrapped all together. The regular panelist and fan favourite, 67, admitted she hopes bosses change their mind on the proposals.

In May it was revealed the much-loved panel show would be axed for half the year as bosses eyed up massive cuts in a bid to save millions. The budget cuts are expected to come into force in January, and would see a whole new way of working for the Loose Women team.

They will no longer have A-list guests in the studio and their live audience will be a thing of the past. There are growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year.

Linda has now revealed her thoughts on the plans as she insisted she is trying to “stay positive”.

She added: “I think it’d be very sad if it got cancelled because of all the people that are watching at home, especially like older people and that was sitting down, looking forward to watching it every day.”

Speaking of the huge changes and her co-stars, Linda told the Sun: “A lot of them have been doing it for 25 years now, so, but hopefully, maybe, like in the new year, they’ll be able to get the audience back and carry on as normal.”

It’s not just Loose Women that will see major changes, as ITV are also slashing the budgets for Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning. They are halving the number of jobs and significantly reducing the time some of them are on air.

The cuts at ITV Studios, which makes all four shows, mean more than 220 of 440 staff involved will lose their jobs. Linda previously said: “It’s a shame people are losing their jobs.

“We’re all like a family. We’ve been together through births, marriages, deaths. It’s been very hard. Everyone’s worried about the show. We’re just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But hopefully it’s not going be as bad as it already is.”

Linda’s co-star Nadia Sawalha has also shared the extent of the changes and what it means for the team. “What people don’t realise at Loose Women is that we’re self-employed,” she explained.

“I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow. I could be let go in five years. You don’t know because we’re not employees.”

While Loose’s Janet Street-Porter believes she is safe. The TV star appeared to be certain “older” Loose Women are not likely to be cut as they appeal to the target audience.

“There are no plans to get rid of the older women despite what some people have said,” Janet said. She thinks newcomers, younger stars or those with less experience could face the door.
