A pal of Nicola Peltz has silenced speculation that she and Brooklyn Beckham have become distant from their friend Selena Gomez after sources said their bond ‘didn’t exist’

After previously forming a close friendship with them, Selena Gomez was said to have turned her back on pals Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham. However, the Mirror can reveal that this is far from the truth.

Back in 2023, she even joked that the trio were in a “throuple”, but it now appears that’s no longer the case. The singer, 33, was noticeably absent from the couple’s vow renewal last month and it’s now being reported that she’s been left “truly disappointed” by the pair’s “diva” like behaviour.

A source told The Sun: “Last year, she noticed Nicola’s behaviour toward her and [fiancé Benny Blanco] turned into a constant quest for attention.

“There were many tense moments, for example, during dinners and lunches, where Nicola would try to sit where photographers could get the best angle, and she wasn’t very nice to Selena if people weren’t paying enough attention to her.” It comes after David Beckham speaks ‘as a father’ in ‘family’ announcement after latest Brooklyn snub.

The source added: “’I mean, just look at Nicola and Brooklyn’s circle of friends, it’s shrinking every week. Some people have turned their backs on them because they’ve realised how Nicola behaves, and Brooklyn isn’t doing much to change the dynamic.” But a source close to Nicola told the Mirror: “It’s totally false and wrong to bring an innocent bystander into the feud. People have busy schedules, and people are looking for drama where it doesn’t exist.”

Selena spent New Year’s Eve with Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, back in 2023, with the trio enjoying time together on a yacht in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She took to Instagram to share a series of snaps, with one picture displaying the trio snuggled together as they lay on a net over the water onboard their lavish boat. “Fine calls us a throuple #foreverplusone,” the Good For You singer joked in her caption at the time.

The Naturally singer reportedly also invited the husband and wife to move in with her. An insider told Closer: “Brooklyn and Nicola moved into Selena’s Encino estate a few weeks before Christmas, and the three of them have been playing happy families – joking that Selena is going to be written into the marriage license.

“Brooklyn and Nicola put their home on the market last year and had been living at Nicola’s apartment in LA while they looked for a new house, which has been far from ideal given how cramped it is.”

The source continued: “When Selena suggested they move into her sprawling home with a huge backyard, they loved the idea and agreed that since they’re still so young, living with a friend would be the perfect way to have the best of both worlds.”

Rumours of a feud first did the rounds last month when Nicola’s fans pointed out the actress hadn’t publicly wished Happy Birthday to actress and singer Selena Gomez. Selena, who has just turned 33, marked her latest birthday on July 22.

One fan commented: “No Selena? I miss your friendship with Selena,” while another expressed: “Wondering that too, as it’s Selena’s birthday and she usually posts for that, wall, stories or on Selena’s wall.” A third wrote: “She’s not even friends with his Mum anymore, so ..@selenagomez ?”

This comes as Brooklyn and Nicola are said to be locked into a feud with the rest of the Beckham family. They failed to attend David’s early 50th birthday celebrations back in April or acknowledge the birthday on social media.

Not only this, but none of the Beckham family were present at their recent vow renewal ceremony, with her father Nelson Peltz stepping in to officiate the ceremony.
