Hamilton paid tribute to McMillan on social media
Ferrari star and seven-time F1 world champion Hamilton called his puppy pal a “beautiful soul” in an emotional tribute posted to social media.
But his jet-setting lifestyle meant he couldn’t always be by Roscoe’s side.
So, one of Hamilton’s friends, Kristin McMillan, spent time training and caring for Roscoe, as well as the F1 star’s other bulldog, Coco, who died in 2020.
Addressing his 41 million followers, Hamilton wrote on his Instagram story: “I want you to take time to uplift my amazing friend Kirstin.
“She trained both Roscoe and Coco and treated them like family. She helped look after their health and it is really through her that Roscoe lived so long.
“While I was travelling, she would take care of him and loved him as if he was hers. She was there every day, all day.
“Even with a family and other dogs to look after, she never missed a day. We stood together when letting Roscoe go.
“I am so grateful to have had her in my life and Roscoe’s life. There is nobody like you Kirstin. Thank you.”
McMillan was part of Roscoe’s support circle when he was first diagnosed with pneumonia in April.
It is believed that a mixture of Western medicine, Eastern medicine and acupuncture helped him pull through.
She hoped for another miracle this time round, writing on social media: “Pray that the hands & hearts of the doctors are guided, resourced, and pure.”
Hamilton only has a matter of days to refocus ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.
