Alleged tirade comes amid new royal biography claims
An irritated Prince Andrew reportedly confronted road workers as speed bumps were put in near his Royal Lodge home.
According to The Sun, King Charles’ younger brother barked at a builder from his horse while trotting around Windsor Great Park.
The tabloid reports the speed-reducing measures were being installed across the 4,800-acre estate, Windsor Great Park, where Prince Andrew lives. But it also claims the late Queen Elizabeth II’s second son seemed to suffer a form of “road rage” after he launched a sweary tirade over the development. This latest story comes amid a wave of unflattering press reports concerning Prince Andrew. These include recent allegations from Andrew Lownie’s new royal biography that were serialised in a newspaper.

Prince Andrew’s ‘rant’ near Royal Lodge home
The Sun reports Prince Andrew was riding his horse around a mile from 30-room Royal Lodge when the alleged rant occurred. He is reported to have fumed: “What the [blank] are you doing now?”
The Sun also indicates one bump has been built on the route he takes as he drives from the property.
An unnamed insider is said to have said: “The worker was just going about his job when Andrew, on one of his regular rides round the estate, came along and looked down from up high and said: ‘What the [blank] are you doing now?’”
Prince Andrew is obviously a bit peeved.
The anonymous source went on to allege: “Andrew likes to drive his car out of Royal Lodge quite fast and is obviously a bit peeved as one of the speed humps is right by the gate out of the park.”
Royal Insider has approached reps for Prince Andrew and Buckingham Palace for comment on The Sun’s story.

What is the ‘dispute’ concerning Prince Andrew and the Royal Lodge?
Prince Andrew’s living arrangements have come under greater scrutiny in recent years as the Duke of York has found himself in the headlines again and again.
He moved into the Grade II-listed mansion in the early 2000s with his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. That followed the death of the previous occupant, his grandmother, The Queen Mother. His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, joined them in 2008, 12 years after her divorce from her former husband.
Despite having a 75-year lease, there have been reports in recent years suggesting King Charles wants to ‘evict’ his sibling.
The lease is said to come with conditions regarding Royal Lodge’s upkeep. However, over two years ago, reports circulated that Prince Andrew had no intention of budging from the £30million property. That came even though Prince William and Kate Middleton were linked with a move to Royal Lodge.

‘Stay of execution’
By late 2023, reports claimed Prince Andrew – no longer a working royal – had been granted a “stay of execution”. A deal was said to have been agreed over ensuring repairs were carried out.
However, tabloid sources have not been convinced that Prince Andrew will remain living there on a permanent basis. Earlier this year, it was also reported that the 21 acres of gardens had become overgrown. And January 2025 also saw a report published claiming caring for his late mother’s surviving dogs could “shield” Prince Andrew from having to move out.
“The Queen would be rolling in her grave over this,” an insider seemingly sympathetic to Prince Andrew’s cause reportedly told Australian magazine Women’s Day.
