Peter Andre and his wife, Emily, said they felt ‘privileged’ to be invited to the prestigious WellChild Awards on Monday night alongside Prince Harry.

The annual event celebrates the inspirational qualities of the UK’s seriously ill children and the professionals who help to care for them and is always packed with a whole host of stars.

Proudly posting a snap of himself, Emily, 35, and Prince Harry, 40, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, Peter, 52, said on Instagram: “Such a fantastic evening. An honour to be part of it @dr_emily_official @dukeofsussex.” Dr Emily, who looked stunning in a cream tailored dress with freshly highlighted hair, was given the honour of presenting an award at the event with her husband, who also looked dapper in a grey linen suit.

Captioning a photo of one of the recipients on the night, Emily said it was an “privilege” to have attended and thanked WellChild for inviting her.

She wrote: “Meeting such truly inspirational children and their families was unforgettable. The strength, courage and love in that room was beyond inspiring.

“@wellchild is an incredible charity, helping children with complex health needs receive care at home instead of hospital – making such a difference to so many families.”Forever grateful to have been part of this special evening, celebrating the amazing work they do and the remarkable children and families they support.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry, who has been a patron of WellChild for 17 years, became emotional when talking about the inspirational children at the award ceremony – which was also attended by Molly-Mae Hague – as he revealed that “things hit different” now that he’s a father.

Father-of-five Peter, has had a lot to deal with recently after revealing that his beloved mum, Thea, is barely able to speak.

The Aussie star gave an emotional update about his mum’s health, as she continues to experience with the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.

Thea lives in the Gold Coast, Australia, with Peter’s dad Savvas, and the couple have just celebrated an incredible 70 years of marriage.

However, the happy milestone is tinged with sadness for Peter and the rest of the family, as he revealed in his weekly new! column that his mum is losing the power of speech.

The news comes just weeks after the Mysterious Girl star admitted his feelings of guilt over living so far away and witnessing his mum’s deterioration caused by the progressive neurological disorders.

But posting a montage of photos on Instagram to mark the wedding anniversary, Pete revealed that Prince Harry’s dad, King Charles, had sent his parents his well wishes.

The letter from HRH read: “My wife and I are so pleased to hear that you are celebrating your Platinum Wedding Anniversary on 3rd September, 2025.

“This brings our warmest congratulations and heartfelt good wishes on such a happy occasion.”
