Peter Andre is “worried” for his children at the moment amid uncertain political times, the Mysterious Girl singer has revealed in his weekly New! Magazine column.

Dad-of-five Peter explained that he felt the world was a “scary place” nowadays following the assasination of politician Charlie Kirk. The right-wing political activist was shot dead on Wednesday 10 September while speaking with members of the public.

Discussing the incident, Peter wrote in his column: “The world seems like a very scary, dark place right now. From the murder of politician Charlie Kirk – no matter what you think about his politics – to unrest, demonstrations and wars in various places.

“It scares me, but it makes me more scared for my children – for the world they’re growing up in. It does feel like everything is coming to a head. I really hope not,” he continued.

Peter is a dad to Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, from his first marriage to Katie Price, and shares Theo, Millie and Arabella with wife Emily MacDonagh.

He recently shared that it was “bittersweet” sending his middle children back to school after a busy summer, writing in his column earlier this month: “The kids going back to school has been quite emotional for them. Not least because Amelia (Millie) has started secondary school, and Theo is now without his sister in primary school. It’s bittersweet for parents as well.”

Peter made a point of saying how proud he was of the youngsters, but admitted that he had mixed feelings about them growing up. He continued: “It’s so hard not to feel a little sad that the kids are growing up so quickly, but we are so proud of them for their achievements and we love seeing them become beautiful humans. Also, it’s quite nice to have a bit of quiet in the day. Oh I forgot, we have a 16-month-old. LOL.”

Elsewhere in his column this week, Peter shared that his sister has been visiting the UK recently, detailing the “special” family times they have shared recently.

“My lovely sister Debbie was over with us from Australia for a while and we had such special times together. The family all went to see Back To the Future at the weekend – it’s always been one of my favourite films and the theatre show didn’t disappoint!” said Peter.

Peter continued that she was heading back to be with his parents, including to look after his mum, Thea, 88, who is battlin g Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

“It was sad when Debbie flew back to Oz and we had to say our goodbyes, but at least I know she’ll be there helping to keep an eye on mum and dad. Mum’s not great and though I know she’s only going to get worse, it never gets any easier,” he explained.
