Viewers were very unhappy with the implication
Some royal fans are very unhappy with Good Morning Britain on ITV, after the show debated Prince Harry’s £1.1m donation to Children in Need.
This week, viewers have fumed “give it a rest” after the topic sparked fury on social media.

Good Morning Britain slammed for Prince Harry donation debate
During Wednesday’s (September 10) episode of the show, presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls delivered the morning news, including that of Prince Harry’s generous donation.
The hosts discussed Harry’s £1.1 million to a Children in Need project, but instead of praising the royal, the programme raised eyebrows.
“Prince Harry has made a personal donation of £1.1 million to a BBC Children in Need project in Nottingham, which supports young people who have been affected by violence,” Ed explained.
Give him a break. Good on him for doing it.
Susanna continued: “Prince Harry hopes the donation from his own money, rather than his Archewell charitable organisation, will help changemakers in the city continue their mission to create safe spaces.
“But is the donation a genuine gesture or a cynical way to win back public support?”
Ahead of the debate, the show posted a poll on X, asking users whether they thought the donation was “genuine”.
The discussion also included that of Harry’s relationship with his father, which left viewers even more unimpressed.

Royal fans defend Prince Harry’s generous donation
“Give it a rest,” one person penned on social media.
Another chimed in: “Give him a break. Good on him for doing it.”
“Oh give over about Prince Harry,” fumed another.
“Why is there speculation over a father meeting with his son? Hardly news,” penned a fourth about Harry’s rumoured meeting with King Charles.
A fifth slammed the show, stating: “Do most people hand over £1.1m disingenuously? What an absolutely ridiculous question. Are you alright?” while another similarly shared: “FFS! Have you all lost the plot?”
Did Harry break protocol?
Appearing on the show, royal commentator Duncan Larcombe said of Harry’s donation: “It’s an extraordinary move for him to make. It’s breaking royal protocol. The royals help raise money, they give their time, but they don’t give gifts and money.”
Host Susanna then asked: “How do you know they don’t give gifts?” to which Duncan said that during an event in 2008, they wanted to auction off a hat Harry once wore in Afghanistan for charity. However, according to Duncan, the palace replied saying: “No, the royals don’t make donations.”
However, Susanna argued that Harry is “operating independently” now he’s no longer a working royal.
Duke of Sussex’s UK visit
Harry arrived in the UK on September 8. On Monday, shortly after his arrival, he visited Windsor Castle, where he laid flowers for his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on the third anniversary of her death.
The Duke of Sussex later attended the annual WellChild Awards in London.
On Wednesday, he reunited with his father King Charles in a meeting at Clarence House.
The Duke of Sussex gives hefty donation
On Tuesday, Harry announced his substantial donation of £1.1million to Children in Need.
The duke said the donation was from his own money rather than his Archewell foundation.
The donation is designed to help with the charity’s work tackling violence that impacts young people.
