Harry has been in the UK since Monday

Prince Harry has been seen arriving at Clarence House in London as he finally had a meeting with his father, King Charles, in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, made his return to Britain on Monday (September 8), for the first time since his failed court hearing over the level of his UK security protection back in the spring.

The main purpose of his latest visit was to attend the WellChild Awards, which took place in London on Monday evening. This week, Harry has also made several visits to charities he supports.

But speculation has been rife over whether Prince Harry and his father would meet up.

Prince Harry arrives at Clarence House for King Charles ‘meeting’

On Wednesday (September 10), Prince Harry arrived at Clarence House, King Charles’ London residence, at around 5:20pm (BST).

Buckingham Palace later confirmed that Harry and Charles did meet “for a private tea”.

It’s understood that Harry spent 55 minutes inside Clarence House, meeting with his father.

ITV’s Royal Editor Chris Ship wrote on X on Wednesday: “Prince Harry has arrived at Clarence House. Seems the meeting with his father, King Charles is ON. Harry arrived at 5:20. He has an engagement in the city this evening. So it won’t be a long meeting…”

He later added: “Unless he was waiting in a corridor for a long period of time, Prince Harry spent 55 minutes inside Clarence House meeting his father, King Charles, the first time they have met face to face in 19 months.”

The pair are not believed to have seen each other since last February, after the king announced his cancer diagnosis. At the time, Harry flew back to the UK to see his father.

When did King Charles return to London?

Earlier this week, reports suggested that King Charles was returning from Scotland to London.

In royal tradition started by Queen Victoria, King Charles, 76, has spent his summer up at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

As has become their custom, himself and Queen Camilla attended the annual Braemar Gathering earlier this week. It’s one of the last Highland games of the summer circuit.

Then on Monday, he spent his Accession Day, the anniversary of him officially becoming king, at Balmoral.

Harry’s plea over family reconciliation

In May 2025, Prince Harry sat down with the BBC and issued a plea to his family.

He said: “I would love a reconciliation with my family. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me. But it would be nice to reconcile.”

Have the beginning stages of a possible reconciliation between Harry and Charles finally taken place? Only time will tell…
