Romeo Beckham has set tongues wagging after posting a mysterious black-and-white photo on Instagram, just days after liking ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull’s recent bikini snaps.

The 23-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham shared the image to his Instagram Stories during Paris Fashion Week. It shows a close-up of a woman’s feet clad in black hoof shoes and jeans. He didn’t tag the mystery woman, leaving his 3.9 million followers guessing about her identity.

The post follows Romeo’s notable social media activity involving Kim, 25. For the first time in six months, he ‘liked’ her Instagram posts – one behind-the-scenes image from her DJ shoot with car brand Defender and a sun-soaked bikini snap.

Their split in April had been mired in family tension, with the Beckham feud reportedly adding pressure to the young couple’s relationship. Friends said the relationship fizzled out just weeks after David Beckham’s 50th birthday.

Sources explained the split was amicable. “The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too. There is lots of travelling for both of them, and having a relationship at this time isn’t all that conducive to their lives,” a friend told the Daily Mail.

While Kim became an unlikely figure at the centre of the family rift following claims by Nicola Peltz that she felt uncomfortable around her, those close to Kim stressed she was never romantically involved with Brooklyn Beckham.

“I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question,” Kim said in a statement, shutting down rumours.

Kim, who is the granddaughter of post-war sculptor William Turnbull, comes from a creative family as her father Alex Turnbull and uncle Johnny were members of the post-punk band 23 Skidoo, formed in 1979.

Despite the public chatter, sources insist any connection between Kim and Brooklyn was fleeting and entirely platonic.

The couple split a number of months ago

With the family feud now reportedly settled and Romeo’s desire to distance himself from tensions surrounding the Beckham clan, speculation is rife that the door may be open for a reunion with Kim.

Eagle-eyed social media followers have taken note of his recent interactions, sparking rumours that the pair could be rekindling what was once a seven-month romance.

It comes after the Beckham clan recently celebrated Romeo’s 23rd birthday. The famous family stepped out to celebrate his birthday bash with a swanky London party – with his brother Brooklyn noticeably missing amid the bitter family feud.

Romeo, who turned 23 on September 1, had already celebrated with his family in a low-key fashion in late August as the clan enjoyed an Italian family getaway.

However, on his actual birthday, David, Victoria, Cruz and Harper got their glad rags on to celebrate Romeo once again – this time with a private family bash at a swanky London restaurant.

Brothers Romeo and Brooklyn are reportedly not on speaking terms

Trendy Japanese eatery Aki in Marylebone was taken over for the VIP family affair, which saw guests partying until 2am as they were entertained by a DJ.

While most of Romeo’s family stepped out to celebrate the model and footballer’s birthday, one face was noticeably missing; Brooklyn Beckham.

Not only did Brooklyn not appear at his brother’s birthday celebrations but he also failed to send him a happy birthday message on social media – while Brooklyn was omitted from posts to Romeo by David and Victoria, as the couple usually feature all their children in birthday messages to their brood.
