Fergie and Diana were very close, but it didn’t stop tension arising

Sarah Ferguson reportedly had a “crush” on JFK Jr, leaving her less than impressed when Princess Diana enjoyed a meeting with him.

An excerpt from Andrew Lownie’s Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, published by the Daily Mail, lifts the lid on Fergie’s “schoolgirl crush” which led to her annoyance at Princess Diana.

“On a trip to New York, Fergie asked her staff to find out if John Kennedy Jr. – handsome son of the assassinated JFK – was in town,” Lownie penned. “Discovering where he was, she invited him for drinks or dinner at her hotel, which he accepted.”

According to the excerpt, JFK Jr’s relationship with Darryl Hannah at the time didn’t put Fergie off.

In fact, she allegedly exclaimed that his relationship with Hannah wasn’t going to “bother” her.

A close friend of Fergie, Allan Starkie, made claims about Fergie’s crush in his own 1996 book, Fergie: Her Secret Life.

As reported by the Daily Mail last year, Starkie claimed: “She told me, ‘You know, I find him [JFK Jr] so attractive.’”

He went on: “She was thrilled. She came beaming to me about this great coup. The first step in her latest madcap ambition.”

However, this didn’t cool down Fergie’s ambitions. Starkie described the duchess as having a “sad fantasy” of marrying JFK Jr.

He quotes her asking him, if he died, to find JFK and tell him she is destined to be the First Lady of the US.

Fergie allegedly said she wished JFK (JFK Jr’s deceased father) would approach “John-John” in his dreams and “convince him” to marry her.

Starkie went on: “Her feelings for America’s crown prince only deepened when she heard that Princess Diana had expressed a desire to meet Kennedy.”

He claimed that Fergie expressed obvious “anger and jealousy”, and a simmering “competition” amid Sarah and Diana’s friendship bubbled above the surface.

“She was furious: ‘He’s mine! Why can’t she just leave him alone?’” author Lownie alleged Fergie said.

JFK Jr dated Daryl Hannah for more than five years during the mid-90s.

He later married fashion industry figure Carolyn Bessette in 1996.

The couple tragically died in an airplane, piloted by Kennedy. It crashed into the sea near Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, in 1999.

Bombshell biography makes claims about Sarah’s marriage with Prince Andrew

Reports of Sarah Ferguson’s alleged crush on JFK Jr come after the same biography made bombshell claims that Prince Andrew had slept with “more than a dozen women” before his first anniversary with Fergie.

“Sarah discovered Andrew wasn’t coming home on some of his leave. He was going elsewhere – and this just drove her crazy,” a source alleged in Lownie’s book. Speaking of Andrew’s time in the Royal Navy, the book stated: “She didn’t like the fact she was a shore widow, and to discover she was shore-widowed intentionally really hurt.”
