Loose Women star Stacey Solomon has taken to Instagram to apologise to footie legend Sir David Beckham after bugging the footballer with ‘cringe’ messages in his DMs
Stacey Solomon has issued an apology to David Beckham for sliding into his DMs with “cringe” messages. The Sort Your Life Out star hopped on Instagram to say sorry to the former footballer after admitting to begging him for advice with her next Pickle Cottage project.
During an episode of her new series, Stacey & Joe, the TV personality found she needed some expert advice on beekeeping. After some nudging from her older sister Gemma, she sent some “embarrassing” messages to fellow bee-lover David Beckham.
The former X Factor star sent David a sneaky direct message on Instagram, saying: “I’m getting a beehive and I know you and Victoria have got bees and they’re a big part of your life, so I just wondered if you had any top tips or advice. I’m already regretting sending you this message because I know you’ll never see it, or hear it, and if you do, you’ll probably think I’m a weirdo.”

Now, Stacey has taken to Instagram again, but this time to apologise to David for her messages. In a video where she explained more about the situation and how she felt about it now. Addressing fans, she said she felt “so cringe” about the whole thing.
“Many of you are messaging me after last night’s episode and asking me if David Beckham ever replied to my DMs,” she started. “And I feel so cringe. Like the cringiest person up.”
As she continued, she heaped blame onto Gemma. “She’s got like, I don’t know, some kind of spell over me, where she’ll go to me until I’m like, ‘Yeah, alright’.”
Over the video, she wrote: “Sorry @davidbeckham & I’m never listening to you again @label.lady.1” She added that David did not respond, but she didn’t expect him to either. “He’s a busy man, with a busy family. Like I didn’t expect him to see it. And now I’m just like, ‘Oh how embarrassing’.”
Meanwhile, discussing the DMs on their joint show, Stacey & Joe, her husband Joe Swash seemed relieved by the lack of response. “Damn right, he didn’t reply, he better not either,” the former EastEnders actor joked. “Hands off, mate! I don’t need David Beckham as competition. It’s the last thing I need. I’ve got dogs, ducks, the last thing I need is David Beckham.”

The couple’s reality show Stacey & Joe follows the lives of them and their children as they make Pickle Cottage, an Essex mansion, their home. Recently, the show has displayed what a happy blended family the Solomon-Swash clan are as Stacey’s ex, who she shares her eldest son with, was invited to Pickle Cottage to celebrate son Zachary’s birthday.
Stacey, who discovered she was expecting her first child at the age of 17, also shares Zach with ex boyfriend Dean Cox, and 12-year-old Leighton with former fiancé Aaron Barnham.
On Tuesday night’s episode of Stacey & Joe, the pair invited Dean into their home to mark Zach turning 17. As the blended family enjoyed fish and chips they looked back on when Stacey discovered she was pregnant at the same age Zach had just reached.
