Sian shares daughter Ruby with fiancé Jake Beckett

This Morning host Sian Welby has opened up about an injury her daughter Ruby, one, sustained while in her cot.

The TV presenter became a mum for the first time in June 2024. Sian shares the tot with fiancé Jake Beckett.

And, this week, Sian revealed her panic after an injury left her daughter with “massive bruises” on her head.

Sian Welby reveals baby daughter’s injury

On Wednesday (August 20), Sian was back hosting This Morning, alongside Craig Doyle. On the show, the pair chatted to Dr Anna Machin about what to do when a child sustains a head injury.

Recalling her own worries, Sian revealed: “My little girl is so close to walking now. She has banged her head on the side of the cot, and there’s massive bruises but you’re never quite sure if it’s a problem.”

The doctor replied: “Well most of the time, it’s exactly that. They cry a little bit, they’re a little bit quiet and they might be a little bit sleepy because they’ve just had an adrenaline surge. They’ve had an accident, and all of that is fine. Little bit of Calpol, a hug, and then the personality creeps back. That’s good.”

‘Come and see us in A&E, please’

This Morning star Dr Anna then went on to reveal that viewers should act fast within the first four hours or 24 hours.

She said: “When do we worry? First four hours after an injury, first 24 hours after an injury.

“That’s the time-critical period but initially it’s what happened as soon as they’ve had their injury. Was there a loss of consciousness? People worry about that, everyone would be nervous with that. Have they been vomiting?”

The doctor continued: “One vomit? Happy with that. Two vomits? Getting a little bit nervous. Three vomits, come and see us in A&E, please.

“These are all signs that there might be a bleed in the brain, we want to see that, we want to treat that earlier rather than later. Are they showing any confusion or signs of drowsiness?”

Who is Sian Welby’s partner?

In August 2023, presenter Sian revealed she had got engaged to beau Jake Beckett.

Jake works for Heart Breakfast as a creative producer. Hosts on the radio show include the likes of Emma Bunton, Kelly Brook and Rochelle Humes.

Spilling the engagement story details on her Capital Breakfast show, Sian revealed the pair got engaged during day two of their Crete holiday.

Sian explained: “We always like to do a boat day where we hire a little boat and take it out on the water for a few hours. And so again, that wasn’t suspicious because I expected us to do that.”
