We have collected a lot of data, although it was a pity that we lost some of our potential mileage when Colapinto went off the track. Even so, this was not in any way linked to the tires.”
While the exact cause of the crash remains unclear, the confirmation that tire failure was not to blame is important for both Pirelli’s development program and Colapinto’s reputation. Mechanical issues, setup factors, or simple driver error remain possible explanations, but no further official details have been released.
