A 13-year-old left a theme park in Indonesia with multiple fractures after he was flung from the seat of a faulty ride.

The young teen was riding the Pendulum 360 at Jatim Park in Batu. All seemed well as the thrill-seeker attraction completed a full loop around before slowing down at the top, leaving riders suspended upside down as expected. The episode took a horrific turn after the teen, who apparently slipped from his seat, began dangling on a bar as the Pendulum kept rotating.

Authorities ordered the theme park to halt operations of the Pendulum 360 for the time being. The attraction is a staple of Jawa Timur Park, more commonly known as Jatim Park. The ride is described as an “adrenaline-pumping ride” that lets the passenger “feel how it feels to be spun 360 degrees.”

The girl, 13, endured a hip injury after flying off the spinning ride at the Cozumel Fair at Quintana Roo Park, which is located south of Cancun. Fair staff were accused of failing to secure the safety bar tasked with keeping passengers safe inside the ride. The teen’s nearly-fatal accident was caught on video by an onlooker who recorded the attraction operating with 12 people seated in the carriages.

Riders began screaming with excitement as the machine rapidly spun until the fun came to a screeching halt due to a loud thud, apparently the moment the young girl fell from the machine. The footage becomes disturbing after the teen is seen lying in an unnatural position on the platform, looking to be both in shock and in intense pain.
