Her ‘frustrating” habit landed Erin with the second-lowest score to date
On Monday night, Jeopardy! fans saw Erin go head-to-head with Drew Basile and Graham Hicks.

Throughout the game, Erin buzzed in with four correct and nine incorrect answers.

She finished with -7200, the second-lowest score ever on the show.

Following her performance, Erin reflected on the events that went down on an online thread for the iconic game show.

“When it came to the buzzer, I was my own worst enemy, frequently buzzing midway through the clue as if my thumb had a mind of its own,” she wrote.

“There’s something uniquely frustrating about knowing answers, but not having the wherewithal to ring it at the appropriate time to answer them.

“That was my deficit and I own it entirely.”

Following her confession, Erin joked about her performance, saying, “All I know is that when the WOAT[Worst of All Time] tournament rolls around, I’m a shoe-in!”

Despite her performance, Erin called her time on Jeopardy! “still a great experience.”

She also praised her fellow contestants for their stellar performances.

At the end of the first round, Erin wound up with -400 so she still had a fighting chance,

It wasn’t until she reached Double Jeopardy that she hit a block, getting a total of seven questions wrong.

By the end of the game, Erin took home the second-lowest score with -$7,200.

Due to her standing, Erin did not participate in Final Jeopardy.

While her score wasn’t the greatest, it wasn’t the lowest the show has seen.

Jeopardy! Host Timeline

Jeopardy! has had a tumultuous history regarding hosts after the death of the iconic Alex Trebek in 2020. Here are all of the hosts since the game show’s inception in 1964.

Art Fleming – 1964 to 1975, he was the original host of the daytime version of Jeopardy! on NBC.

Alex Trebek – 1984 to 2020, the late, great Alex hosted Jeopardy!’s modern iteration for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer.

Guest hosts – 2020 to 2021, Jeopardy! tested out a series of guest hosts for week or two-week stints, including Anderson Cooper, LaVar Burton, and Aaron Rodgers.

Mike Richards – 2021, he was named host for one week before resigning amid controversy. He was the show’s executive producer at the time.

Mayim Bialik – 2021 to 2023, when Mike was announced as the show’s new host, Mayim was chosen to host tournaments and primetime specials.

Mayim and Ken Jennings – 2022 to 2023, 74-time champion Ken (the longest-winning contestant ever) joined Mayim as a guest host and they split hosting duties.

Ken Jennings – 2023 to present. Last December, Mayim announced on Instagram that she would “no longer” host Jeopardy! after a lengthy hiatus, having stood with the writer’s strike, and Ken was named sole host.

Ken now helms all editions of Jeopardy! including Celebrity Jeopardy!, the nightly show, and other primetime specials like Masters.

During season 37 in 2021, product specialist and former contestant Patrick Pearce ended the game with a score of -$7,400.

SUPPORTIVE FANS

Even with Erin’s final result, fans and former Jeopardy! contestants took to the online thread to support the California native.

“Erin, you gave it your all and I was rooting for you all the way,” former contestant Alison Betts said.

“The fact that you have such kind things to say about your fellow contestants just cements in my mind what an awesome person you are.”

Another user said, “I think it’s great how you kept swinging!

“It’s a tough game but I enjoyed watching you never give up!”

Contestant Jonquil Garrick-Reynolds took to the platform to extend her kindness, saying, “You never gave up, and that’s what matters.”
