MSNBC’s Joy Reid slammed over ‘bitter’ final sign-off as she rants about ‘averting crisis’ and ends show with 6-word vow

RADICAL ex-MSNBC host Joy Reid has been blasted by voters for making a final fear-mongering speech in her last show with the network.

Reid was one of many affected by a complete network overhaul fueled by a post-election ratings slump and new leadership.

At the beginning of her send-off on Monday evening, she bizarrely said fascism is “already here” in a bitter dig at President Donald Trump.

“When you are in the midst of a crisis, and specifically a crisis of democracy, how do you resist?” she said.

Reid went on to encourage viewers to “just say no” to anything they disagree with and compared the current political divide to the fight for abolishing slavery or the civil rights movement.

“The first rule is to fight back. To never stop resisting,” she told fans.

“Even if it’s scary or uncomfortable or inconvenient, just keep saying no.”

Reid was blasted online by Trump’s supporters, who called the final monologue a “bitter” and “unhinged” rant.

“That’s why she lost her job. The fascism thing has run its course,” said one critic on X.

“Good riddance! She definitely does not add value to this country or society,” wrote another angered viewer.

A different person said, “I tried watching 10 minutes of that show, and I can see why it was canceled. It was pure torture and a bad format.

“I know it was her last show and she mailed it in but wearing a track suit that looked like something out of NASCAR with the patches was not a good look.”

Fans of Reid were outraged by her firing too and blasted MSNBC for cutting some of its top talent.

“Absolutely reprehensible to fire Joy Reid. This is an example of squashing freedom of speech,” said one viewer.

Rachel Maddow, who is one of the network’s most popular primetime personalities, went on to rip into her own employer live on air in support of Reid.

In a monologue, the 51-year-old slammed her bosses and said that Reid’s firing was a decision that was “hard to take.”

“In all of the jobs I have had, in all of the years I have been alive, there is no colleague for whom I have had more affection and more respect than Joy Reid.

“I love everything about her. I have learned so much from her.

“I don’t want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC and personally I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door.

“It’s not my call and I understand that, but that’s what I think.”

Despite Maddow’s cries of protests, no one is safe in primetime, especially after new president Rebecca Kutler took over in January.

NBC Universal has had some huge shakeups in recent months, as top talents are either stepping down or being asked to leave.

Also on Monday, the mega-popular Lester Holt announced that he would be leaving NBC Nightly News by the summertime.

This departure came after NBC’s Today show lost beloved host Hoda Kotb, who had been waking up America since 2018.

Now that The ReidOut is over, the 7 pm slot will be filled by a rotating cast of familiar faces.

The three anchors taking over hosting duties include political commentator Symone Sanders Townsend, former chairman of the Republican National Committee Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, the daughter of disgraced Senator Bob Menendez.
