The 79-year-old took a scary tumble back in March
Rumors had been circulating that Joy’s three-year contract expires this summer, with the Independent Journal Review claiming she was ready to retire “any day now,” ahead of her 80th birthday in October.
However, Joy’s rep dismissed the claims, telling the New York Post: “Fake news.”
They revealed that the veteran panelist’s new contract will keep her tied to the talk show until 2025.
It is not known how much Joy is being paid for the new contract, however, the controversial comedian reportedly made $7million per year with her previous deal.
The presenter is the only original panelist on The View, having joined 25 years ago.
She co-hosts with Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines, while Ana Navarro appears one day a week.
Joy moderates the daytime show every Friday and filled in for Whoopi when she was suspended for two weeks in February over her controversial comments about the Holocaust.
The host sparked concern back in March when she suffered a scary fall live on air.
Joy was walking out to the stage at the start of the show when she hit the ground just before reaching her seat.
Cameras captured her face-planting as her co-hosts Sara and Sunny gasped and rushed to help lift her up.
The show’s moderator Whoopi also rushed over to tend to the veteran star, telling her to “come on, just stand.”
Joy was helped into her chair by Sara and Sunny as well as a production assistant, who ran onstage to help.
The star was serious about her accident, telling anyone who suffers a fall to monitor their symptoms.
“The main thing – just to talk seriously – when Bob Saget fell, he died,” she said.
“If you hit your head, and you feel dizzy, or you have blurred vision, or you feel like you want to go to sleep, go to the doctor. Because that will kill you.”
She ended on a light note, saying: “I’m a klutz.”
